News and Updates
- The founders of Elite Defenders, Giga-Spinax and Giga-Allo, have made their comeback to Spiral Knights at long last after fixing some computer issues. Be sure to say hello if you see them online!
- Zebramf has been promoted to the rank of Guild Master after a unanimous by the officers and other Guild Masters. Thunderbirdva was also crowned the unofficial Head Officer position. Be sure to congratulate them!
- The guild hall has undergone some major renovations. The guild hall has adopted a Power Complex theme, and the main entranceway was redecorated by Thepopguardian and Thunderbirdva.
- After the recent Battle Sprite update, the guild hall upkeep has gone from 60,000 crowns a week to 12,000. This drop in upkeep has sparked interest in expanding the hall by adding a third floor, and will be discussed more in-depth at the next officer meeting.
- More recently, Cold-Death has returned to the Elite Defenders and regained his rank of Veteran. We are all very glad to have him back with us.
After another officer meeting, several decisions were made and an alliance was formed.
- Our next big project is changing the hall's theme. The majority of the officers voted in favor of the Power Complex theme, though the decision is not official yet as we need a GM's vote. If accepted, we will need 95k on top of the 12k for upkeep. In total, that will be 107k in the treasury before upkeep.
- We are now allied with the guild Plasmatech Pride, PTP for short. They are an old guild who recently went under tough times and was forced to restart. There will be a link to their wiki when it is completed. This alliance comes with some rules that both sides need to follow. They go as follow:
- Guild members on both sides are encouraged to help out each other on missions and boss runs. While this is not a requirement, we kindly ask you to help out as much as possible. Remember that begging is not acceptable.
- If you wish to donate directly to PTP, please contact Soupgenie. Neither side will accept crown donations exceeding 2k unless they are low on upkeep. You can still trade with members of PTP as normal.
- Treat members of the other guild as if they were your own. We are allies now, and therefore have to treat each other as such. Showing disrespect to members of either guild will get you kicked.
The officers all met together to discuss important guild matters. A lot was discussed, but here is the list of what has changed and/or been added:
- Promoted Snafupox to Guild Master. Congratulations!
- Added a room renting system. See the 'Guild Benefits' section below for more details.
Added a "Guild Run" day. Every Saturday at 8pm PDT (11pm EDT), members of the guild are required to do a boss run of their choice. 50% of crowns earned from boss runs are to be donated to the guild's treasury. This is an all-day event.- Updated the inactivity requirements. Any Recruit who goes three weeks without donating will be kicked.
Our guild completed it's first official Shadow Lair run today. A group of four knights, made up of Kyrehx, Zebramf, Cold-Death, and Quinzal, braved the icy depths to defeat the royal Ice Queen. The run was a great success, with energy revive prices at only 160ce for each member by the end. Kyrehx and Cold-Death crafted some new armor for themselves once the Sanctuary was reached. Kyrehx now has a full set of Snarbolax, and Cold-Death has Mercurial Demo gear. We hope to do more runs like this in the future.

At the terminal
The officers held a meeting for all members to attend. Here is that list of what we covered for those of you that missed it.
- Promoted Snafupox, Athenian-Owl, and Thepopguardian to Officer rank.
- Promoted Altimer, Cold-Death, Quinzal, and Hopestheim to Veteran rank.
- Voted unanimously on creating a Wiki page.
- Set a new goal for the guild - 210k in the treasury to purchase a 150 guild member limit. (Goal has been met)
- Officially announced the Steam group. It is now open to the public.
- Created an Introduction forum on the discussion board. We ask that you take time to introduce yourselves so we can see who is who.

We have a Steam group for our members. The group is view-able by the public, but we will only invite you if you are a guild member. The Steam group will always be updated with the latest news and updates. This wiki page will be updated regularly, but the best way to get updates will always be through the Steam group.

Summary
The Elite Defenders is a small, friendly community of gamers that enjoy exploring the Clockworks, playing Lockdown, and just hanging out together. We do boss runs on a regular basis, mostly the Jelly King, Roarmulus Twins, and Vanaduke. Many of our members range between Tier 2 and 3, but we'll accept just about anyone that wants to join. We are all active members of the Spiral Knights community, so there will always be someone online to chat and play with! Stop by our hall sometime and see what we've got to offer - we'd love to have your company!

Joining the Elite Defenders
Joining the guild is a simple process. All you need to do is send a message to one of the officers listed (whether it be by mail or PM) and we'll get back to you as soon as we can. You can also visit us in our guild hall, though the best chance of catching us is later in the evening.
Member Benefits
Here is a list of amenities that we currently offer our members:
- A good-sized guild hall with two floors and all wings unlocked.
- Member, Veteran, and Officer storage (for gear and materials)
- Our own Auction House and Alchemy stations
- An Energy Well for Veterans and up (NO EXCEPTIONS)
- A bar, barracks, and garden for relaxation
- A War Room for guild meetings
- A 150-member limit
- Friendly guildmates and active officers
Room Renting Guide
We currently have two rooms available in the guild hall for members to rent. By paying a weekly fee, you'll be able to customize your room with all sorts of furniture. Renters can expect the following:
- Promotion to Veteran. This way, you can edit your the room, but you must get an officer or GM's approval before it can be published. Stealing furniture from other rooms is not allowed. You will be demoted back to member when you either miss your rent or choose to stop renting the room. This does not apply to current Veterans.
- The Energy Well will be removed if there is energy in it. This is to prevent renters from stealing from it.
- Must pay 21k per week. This can be paid either all at once, or at a rate of 3k per day. (Must pay 21k by the end of the week, or you will be evicted. Your room will be emptied of all furniture and become open for others to rent.)
- Must buy furniture with your own money. We'll buy the furniture for you, but only if you provide the crowns. Energy Wells cannot be purchased. For the complete list of furniture that can be purchased, click here: Furniture

Rules, Guidelines, and Rankings
Rules and Guidelines
These are the guidelines that we'd like to see every member follow to keep this guild in a close-knit, family-style setting.
- Be a good person - Being a nice person is a large part of what we ask for in this guild. Simply showing that you care for your fellow guildmates will help immensely. Though, just for clarification, we aren't asking that you give out all of your crowns and CE to those who beg.
- Use common sense - This goes hand-in-hand with the above guideline. Please use common sense when playing in the guild. We all want to trust that you can make good, healthy decisions on your own terms.
- Do not beg for promotions - Not much needs to be said here. Do not beg to be promoted to Veteran or above - chances are, we're going to ignore you and move on. Prove to us that you can be trusted with a promotion, and then we'll talk.
- Be active - We would love to have as many active members as possible. We understand if you can't be on every single day, but being absent for too long without a reason isn't good for the guild. See the list below for the amount of time we allow members of each rank to be absent for.
- Recruit: Three (3) weeks (If Recruits go three weeks without donating, they will be kicked. This does not apply to other ranks.)
- Member: Five (5) weeks
- Veteran: Eight (8) weeks
- Officer: Ten (10) weeks
- GM: Indefinitely (∞)
- Use storage correctly - Materials and gear put in storage is not there for people to take for free. If you take something out of storage, put something back in of equal value. For example, taking out a 2* material for crafting means that you need to put in another 2* material to even things out. Taking out two 2* materials means two 2* materials must be put back in. The same system applies to everything else in storage.
- [To Veterans] Do not abuse the Energy Well - We work hard to keep the Energy Well in working order. Abusing the well will just get you demoted and/or removed from the guild. And while Veterans have permission to take out energy, we ask that you pay back what you borrowed. Ex: If you take 100 energy from the well, please donate some back when possible.
- Do not beg to use the Energy Well - Recent events have forced this to our attention. We do not want members who are only in the guild for our energy. The well is for Veterans and up only! We do not make exceptions for any reason whatsoever, even if you know one of the officers or GMs personally. If you are just going to beg, don't even bother coming to us.
Rankings
Getting through the ranks can be as easy as you make it. We're looking for knights who are willing to help out the guild and it's members. Donating crowns and being a friendly person will help your progress more than begging and whining ever will.
Everyone in the guild starts out as a Recruit, and making it to Member status is as easy as donating at least 1,000 crowns to the guild's treasury. This can be done over a period of time or all at once. After you have donated, please contact an Officer so they can confirm and promote you.
Veteran status is a promotion that we save for the more experienced and trusted players in the guild. Earning Vet status shows that the Officers and/or GMs have faith in you to not abuse the advantages that come with the promotion, such as the MotD and Mist Well. We generally promote Members to Veteran status if they meet these requirements:
- Have been a member for around a month
- Have donated a generous amount of crowns to the guild
- Have shown their fellow guildmates that they are a kind, honest, and dependable player
- Do not beg to be promoted or beg to use the Mist Well
Officer and GM ranks can not be reached under general terms. They are reserved for the leaders of this guild, and no amount of begging will get you there. The best way to get to Officer rank is to show that you are a respectable player who wants to help guide this guild in the right direction.
