Large insects that have a small chance to emerge from any graveyard burrow during the [[Dark Harvest Festival]]. (Randomly replaces [[Dust Zombie]] spawn). Only one will crawl out of its burrow, unlike their smaller cousins. That being said, there could be several burrows in the area, so be prepared for a swarm - especially when fighting them in the Punkin King's lair, where several are guaranteed to show up.

*When the Grim Scarab is defeated, a tall [[Grim Gourdling]] will get to its feet and fight. It is presumed that these Grim Gourdlings use the Grim Scarabs as [http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/105524 some sort of mount], similar to a warrior on a battle horse.

Scarabs are a type of monster found in the Clockworks.

Traits

Scarabs are devilish insects that have come back from the grave to feed on the living. They usually attack in groups and will overpower knights who aren't paying attention to their surroundings.

At the moment, only the Tier 2 and Tier 3 version of Scarabs have appeared in the game. But the rest of Tier 1 Scarabs can appear from Monster cages.

Types

Grave Scarab

Sun Scarab

Pale Scarab

Plague Scarab

Silver Scarab

Strategy

Scarabs will normally spawn in large colonies, and can very easily swarm you with their flying tackles that lock on to players. They always fly in straight line. The best way to get rid of a swarm of Scarabs is with the charge of the Divine Avenger, elementals bombs like the Stagger Storm or the Shivermist Buster can be a good option too.
