From SpiralKnights
I am not an employee, just a very overly enthusiastic gamer and wiki editor. Keep edits here limited to things about the wiki that I've done, or that you are very sure I can help with. All my work is volunteer - and I value every moment :). That being said, I'll be happy to help if I can. My IGN is Novaster, same as my wiki account, so pop me a pm or mail in-game if you want to casually discuss things. If you have a suggestion for Spiral Knights, please use the Suggestions Forum instead. If you need assistance with your account, use the links on the Support Portal to get help. Vendor List Changes
Should I make changes on the following pages?:
Punch and Vise - These don't give actual items but just services
Supply Depot - Not actually a vendor
Boost, Ursula, Quince, Rudkin - Obsolete
Also, what type are vials and vitapods? Materials? --Snarbylord 02:21, 2 January 2016 (UTC)
- I'll look into this more deeply tomorrow, or possibly later tonight. Vials are pickups, vitapods are consumables. Leave obsolete pages alone. Leave Punch and Vise alone, I have something else in mind involving tickets. We can't even edit the Supply Depot page (it is protected because it directly involves the "real money" in-game currency of energy), and it's very different from an NPC vendor, so we would leave it alone anyway. --Novaster 03:36, 2 January 2016 (UTC)
- Alright, thanks. But what type are materials? Tokens?
- Materials don't really have a subtype, just leave it blank. Subtype is something we do to help users, it's not really an in-game arsenal-influencing thing. --Novaster 20:24, 2 January 2016 (UTC)

APNG images
APNG works only with Firefox and doesn't have enough support by software Offtop: do you know any way to make images of rare items? Rrrrex IGN: The-Worst-Knight
- I'm not sure what your point is with APNG. It works with other browsers and it's what we use on this wiki. What do you mean "make images of rare items"? What would be an example? Also, you can sign your posts with --~~~~ to save a lot of time.--Novaster 02:33, 4 June 2016 (UTC)
- The reason APNG is used on the wiki is because it uses the .png extension. The GMs won't add additional file types or change the configuration, so that's what we gotta use if we want something better than GIF. --Icytea 06:41, 4 June 2016 (UTC)
- I can make GIF with few clicks, really fast. About APNG, i installed Chrome extension, but all i can do is to see all frames of animation.
- About rare items, it may be costume accessories from early promos, something that is incredibly hard to find nowadays. I'm ready to work with it, but i'm not ready to search for it. I spent a lot of time in search of proto armor, that's why i don't know how to restore wiki effortlessly.--Rrrrex 13:26, 4 June 2016 (UTC)
- Focus on things you can do, don't worry about that stuff. there's plenty to do. Also, definitely do NOT do gifs unless there are no other options (the entity is extremely complex and produces an APNG file that is too large. This is very rare). It is explicitly stated in the style guide via an admin post (Equinox) that editors of this wiki should simply avoid gifs, even though they are able to be uploaded. They are a low quality file format. --Novaster 02:39, 5 June 2016 (UTC)
About Shroud
About recent edits to the Shroud of the Apocrea page, I just wanted to explain my reasoning on the edit. Since Haven has had the same visual effect during every Shroud event, I removed the reference in the calendar on the most recent one, thinking that it had been mentioned up above. It turns out this wasn't the case on a second look. I won't remove the mention again, but do you think it might be suited better listed under the first event's details section on the calendar? --Wired Wolf 6:15, 5 June 2016 (UTC)
- No, because that particular spooky weather effect was for the Dark Harvest Festival (the third instance of DHF occurred simultaneously with the first Apocrea in 2013, confusing many players), and had nothing to do with Apocrea - no Apocrea events had their own spooky weather in Haven until the (current) 5th occurrence. If Apocrea continues to have spooky weather in future occurrences, then we will make a note of that in the bulk page text, and reword the calendar so that it's clear the 5th was the first time the weather was intended for Apocrea. Something like "as of this event, weather is blah." Avoid extrapolation and misleading historical information. --Novaster 20:08, 7 June 2016 (UTC)
- Well, looks like I'm wrong on a few levels. I just remember uploading this in 2015. Maybe my game was just being derpy. I found this video so I'm probably just going insane. --Novaster 20:17, 7 June 2016 (UTC)
Here we go:
- 2013: Fog = yes, but it was during DHF.
- Jun 2014: fog = yes
- Jan 2015: ??? (28 January 2015 upload. See history of File:Haven-Event-SotA-TownSquare.png. - video error possible)
- Aug 2015: ???
- Jun 2016: Fog = yes
Hypothesis: fog is normal, but I happened to upload a pic during the weird super short event, which might just be the one event that didn't have fog. I'd like more proof before editing the page with conclusive information. --Novaster 20:30, 7 June 2016 (UTC)
