:My research has found gates of Valestone and Luminite to be both beast and slime. The deciding factor to this, as I had witnessed, was the third most prevalent mineral (in this case, Crimsonite and Moonstone). Numbers

There is a section that includes how many minerals are required to make a gate. However, in the past this number scaled automatically depending on the activity of players... now that the gate creation system has changed, we should watch gates for signs of variation. --Pauling 04:42, 13 March 2011 (UTC)

Yeah, I had just accidentally left that in there and probably edited it to remove them after you'd read the article. I was putting them in when I looked at another gate and noticed it was still variable. --Equinox 15:03, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
