It is modified from the standard Showhide Template used around many wikis.

This template does not do well on its own on a page and is best used in structured tables that are also part of the GearList template system.

It is used to hide large amounts of information in the "GearList Template System" that are important for comparison, but otherwise get in the way of general perusal.
