P.S - I think this logic works: if there's ever more, for example, "dust bunny tails", then we'll fix the "dust bunny tail" to not have this "alternate name" category, and probably either redirect the "lovely dust bunny tail" to the new "dust bunny tail" page, or delete the individual page entirely (I'm loath to make redirects for color styles of non-unique accessories - people rarely type all that out and boy, the clutter on the category pages!). This happened quickly with "lovely bent vertical vents" and the later released "bent vertical vents" - for that one, I did a redirect...still missing a pic of unattached volcanic. Grrr. -Novaster 01:37, 13 July 2014 (UTC)

: Hee, I love those tags too. it's hard to know where to draw the line between adding a redirect or not - just use your best judgment, that usually works! As for the inconsistencies, if there are any 'official' pages that need to be updated to the in-game name, please let me know and I'll take care of it. --Clotho 02:14, 13 July 2014 (UTC)

Trying to get pages nice and organized with capital letters and such, so less-than-ideal pages can be deleted properly - I can't edit This Page or This Page - All they need are capital As for heat amps, and then the bad "Heat amplifier" page can go away forever. (Replaced with "Heat Amplifier."). Usually I find that the wiki hiccups once or twice, then registers the capital letter change - but that could just be something weird with my browser. Is it like this for everyone? If not, I feel a bit silly fiddling around with capital letters. -Novaster 05:52, 13 July 2014 (UTC)

Howdy, I've done an experiment with the Military-Themed category page. I've put the category tag on all the military-themed accessories in the game. I think it works pretty well, as these acc don't have their own pages, and thusly wouldn't show up in a category search. Would this sort of thing be condoned? If so, I'd love to go through and add theme tags to all the image files of accessories. -Novaster 22:09, 20 May 2014 (UTC)

EDIT: oh no I got excited and did it to ancient accessory image files too. Novaster 08:13, 21 May 2014 (UTC)

This is the sort of thing that is best discussed in the Wiki Editors forums, as it's best to have a consensus before making any major change. Whatever the majority agrees upon is fine with me! --Clotho 17:17, 21 May 2014 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for getting rid of those ultra-specific category pages, obviously they didn't work out as planned! (Really thanks, not sarcasm). -Novaster 07:11, 13 June 2014 (UTC)

You're welcome! They were marked for immediate deletion with no comments. Didn't have time to clear everything in the deleted category, however, but will try to continue doing that in the next few days. --Clotho 18:30, 13 June 2014 (UTC)

Could you look at:

If you have the time, can you look at either (or both) of the "Template:WeaponInfo" and "Template:Equipment see also" templates? I'm not sure which one would be better to edit for this goal, but if I had to guess, it would be the "see also" one. We're trying to have a link to specific guides based on what item type is on the page - so a Sword (like the Sudaruska) would link to the Swordmaster Guide in the "See Also" section. I fiddled around with them but nothing worked exactly like we wanted it to. Sadface. -Novaster 16:49, 8 July 2014 (UTC)

P.S. - Here we are on the forums chatting about it -Novaster 16:52, 8 July 2014 (UTC)

Is this what you are looking for? -- Clotho 23:33, 8 July 2014 (UTC)
Tested it out, but it's not registering the right switch - it's still not "communicating" with the weaponinfo template. Feels like it's getting closer, though. -Novaster 01:13, 9 July 2014 (UTC)
If you want it to interact with the weaponinfo template using the "type" from that template, but at the same time being separate templates, then I can't help - way above my wiki magic tricks :) Right now it needs its own type to be specified within this template, i.e. . That said, how about this version?
Hmm, personally I like it but, the other wiki people probably won't "go for it," since pages have the "See Also" at the bottom in general. It might also lead to too much clutter in a "general info" box. Gotta love those standard formatting issues. It's good to have this option in case the future demands something similar. We'll just link to a general category page for all of the guides (probably - something that has yet to be made), that seemed to be the plan B in the forums. The thought process would be something like "hmm...I was just on a sword page...I should probably...pick the sword guide out of the rest of these guides! Yes!" Great challenge/effort though... Thanks for looking into it! -Novaster 16:56, 9 July 2014 (UTC)
P.S. - Trying out this Category Page (linked to it in the "Equipment See Also" template used on equipment pages), we'll see if people like it! -Novaster 17:21, 9 July 2014 (UTC)

I love this cat tag! Thanks for bringing it back into the light. Anyway, a few things in there are actually named properly in-game (sometimes the "game files" and "in-game names", and even vs. the dev posts ("floral halo"! Oh dear! All is forgiven :P), are not in sync - so going with the in-game term feels the most comfy. I went in and did some fixes. This "prize box project" I'm working on is sure exposing a lot of holes.-Novaster 01:22, 13 July 2014 (UTC)
