Harness

A Harness is a type of item that can be equipped on a Battle Sprite.

Acquisition

Harnesses are bound upon acquisition. They cannot be unbound.

Every player obtains the Iron Harness when they acquire their first sprite. More harnesses can be purchased from Riley in the Laboratory.

The player must own the previous version of a harness before they can purchase the next version. For example, if the player desires an Elite Golden Harness, the player must first buy a Golden Harness, then an Advanced Golden Harness, and then finally an Elite Golden Harness.

Harnesses do not show up in the player's arsenal tabs. Owned harnesses can be viewed in the sprite interface. Alternatively, the player can check with Riley. To ensure that players don't buy duplicate harnesses, Riley only sells each harness once to the player, as there is no reason for a player to own multiple copies of the same harness. After the player has bought every harness, Riley's ware list will be empty.

Usage

The harness controls whether the sprite inflicts normal, piercing, elemental, or shadow damage. The harness also reduces the cooldown period for sprite skills.

When the player owns more than one sprite, their sprites share all of the purchased harnesses. Certain sprite families cannot equip certain harnesses.

: A superior harness replaces an inferior harness - meaning that a sprite cannot equip an Advanced Crystal Harness if the player owns an Elite Crystal Harness, and so on. This means that certain things are limited once a superior harness is obtained. Limitations include aesthetics, testing a lower harness, or self-challenges with weaker equipment. Be sure to plan ahead regarding these factors before purchasing.
