Usage
To tag a page as a redirect from a file page to an existing file page.
It should only be used to track files which have been redirected to ensure that linking does not result in directing users to empty or deleted pages (especially from external linking). Files, or "empty" files are redirected for the following reasons:
- Moving to a more appropriately named file. Usually needed for template consistency after files have been haphazardly uploaded to inconsistent names, or if the entity's name in-game changes significantly.
- The page names of previously uploaded files that have been deleted as a result of a failed move that had to be forced, which occurs occasionally.
- Files that would be large (filesize wise) duplicates of existing files. This method is mostly used for "big" News images. It is not used for small files such as accessory icons. This requires careful editor foresight, because duplicate files are a big no-no in the wiki editing world, but for a game wiki certain certain exceptions are made.
