This is the official Wiki tutorial on how to contribute to the Beyond the Core Youtube channel. Our YT channel is meant to be a gallery of videos of guild runs of all tiers, skill levels and more importantly comprising of different contributing members, so that it give people a proper idea of what the guild at large looks like as opposed to select runs that a Guild Master can be in. However, allowing any individual to access the channel would run the risk of the channel being deleted or otherwise defamed if someone irresponsible was given access. To prevent this happening, videos will only be uploaded by Echoez and Vandergant, however YOU can still record and contribute! Just following the steps below;
First of all if you want to contribute to the channel and have the means to do so, message Echoez or Vandergant so the matter can be discussed and if all things go well, you'll be added to our list of contributors.
Assuming you are accepted, you now need to actually record videos, and they must all meet the following criteria.
- ALL VIDEOS UPLOADED TO THE CHANNEL MUST BE HD, AND RECORDED AT 1280x720 RESOLUTION. Assuming you meet this standard you can record and edit using whatever software you want however it is preferred that your output video is in .mp4 for the best balance of compression and quality, usually with a bit rate of 1000-2000kbps.
- Videos should be of at least two guild members, doing a guild run. We don't want videos of you running through the clockworks with three people whom aren't in the guild on the guild youtube channel.
- If you wish to add something to the video more than basic edits, ergo music unrelated to the game entirely, commentary, or something else, you must discuss it with us beforehand. Otherwise the assumption is that basic editing aside the video(s) will simply be of the game with no additional content.
If you have your output video at the desired resolution, a well compressed format and most importantly that it still looks good then upload the video file to Mediafire or another, similar site and give the link to either Echoez or Vandergant to download, and then upload to the channel.
Although ideally people would volunteer to help record videos purely out of a desire to help the guild's public image, those of you who contribute to the channel either with exceptional content on a regular basis will be rewarded for your contribution.
