The Spiral Warden stands in front of access to the elevator down in both Moorcroft Manor and Emberlight. If you have not yet been granted access to that tier, the force field will be red and locked to you (left); when you are granted access, the force field will be blue and unlocked for your entry (right).

Upon entering a subtown, knights will encounter a Spiral Warden guarding the entrance to the town and next tier. In order to pass, a player must have a complete set of equipment of a minimum star value.

Tier Clearance

As the danger of exploring the Clockworks increases with each depth a knight descends, tier clearance is required for access to prevent inexperienced knights falling into peril. Clearance must be gained for each tier.

Once a knight has achieved tier certification, they may enter that tier with equipment of any star level. Knights may also enter directly into the first level of that tier via any gate (although certain fees may apply.

It is possible for a knight to explore a tier that they have not yet been cleared for by being invited to join a party started by a knight with access.

Tier 1

When a knight gains entrance Haven, they are automatically granted access to Tier 1. For new knights this occurs at the completion of mission 1-4 "Crossing the Chasm".

Tier 2

To be granted access to Tier 2 at Moorcroft Manor, a knight needs to have completed the rank 4-2 mission "Hall of Heroes", and their currently equipped armor, helmet, shield, and at least one weapon must all have a 2-star or greater rating.

Tier 3

To be granted access to Tier 3 at a knight must complete the rank 6-2 mission "Hall of Heroes", with their currently equipped armor, helmet, shield, and at least one weapon, being of a 4-star or greater rating.

Tracking Progress Toward Clearance

Your progress toward earning clearance to the next tier.

You can track your progress toward clearance for a particular tier with two methods:

• You can talk to the Spiral Warden by clicking ATTACK. He will tell you what you need to pass into the next tier.
• Click on the character icon near the minimap or use the P key to access your character information and choose the progress tab. Once the Spiral Warden has awarded you access to the next tier, you will have a white star for that tier in your Clockwork Tier Clearance.

Tier clearances are permanent.

If Your Clearance is Denied

If the Spiral Warden denies you access to the town due to your equipment's star level you must take the elevator to return to Haven.
