Basil, Traveling Merchant

Description

Basil is a Stranger merchant who first appears in the Rescue Camp. Unlike most Strangers, he ventures into the Clockworks and can be found throughout, selling wares to knights.

He sells a list of recipes which is randomly created for each adventuring party when they go down from Haven; his inventory is different at every visit, even at the same depth or terminal. He currently only appears at terminals between subtowns. All knights in an adventuring party will be offered the same recipe list.

Locations

Basil is always found at the midway points of each tier, known as Clockwork Terminals. Terminals are located at depths 4, 13, and 23.

Inventory

In general, Basil offers 1- and 2-star recipes in Tier 1; 2-, 3-, and 4-star recipes in Tier 2; and 4- and 5-star recipes in Tier 3. The content of the recipe list varies, as does the size of the recipe list offered: Basil has been observed to offer between six and twenty-five recipes at a time. The type and size of the inventory appears to be completely random. Below is a table listing the prices of each recipe by its star rating.
