Clockworks Tiers

The Clockworks is broken up into 3 Tiers whose boundaries are represented by the Sub-Towns. These Tiers represent the different zones of difficulty and monster strength in the wold of Cradle. Access to the various Tiers is governed by a Knight's Equipment and Tokens. Tokens are awarded by exploring the Clockworks in any given Tier. Each Tier awards tokens specific to itself. Any Knight can participate in a Tier that has not been unlocked yet by being Invited down into the Clockworks by a more senior Knight.

Clockwork Tier Clearance

The overarching Clockworks Tier Passes represent the overall progress of a Knight. Once unlocked they stay unlocked forever for that Knight. Clearance is granted for the Tiers by the Spiral Guardian deep withing the Clockworks. He waits before the different towns granting access to appropriately experience Knights and tuning away those who are not deemed strong enough to survive the lower Depths.

If you have not yet reached your chosen tier in a specific gate, you can "warp" ahead to the tier of choice at the party creation screen. However, there will be a small crown fee (200 crowns to reach tier 2). If you have previously adventured to tier 2 in that gate, the fee is waived.

Tier 1

This is the first zone of the game, all Knights past the Rescue Camp have immediate access to it. It extends downwards from the town of Haven to Moorcroft Manor. Knights in this area can expect to meet Chroma Whelps, Wolvers and Jelly Cubes as they start their adventures.

Tier 2

The second zone in the game exists down from Moorcroft Manor to the town of Gremlin Outcasts, Emberlight. By now a Knight is more seasoned and should have the concepts of Recipes and Crafting understood as they will become more important in the lower depths. Monsters such as Chromalisks, Duskers and Brute Cubes are common in this area.

To gain access to the Tier a Knight must meet or exceed the following requirements:

  • Equip a 2-Star Helmet
  • Equip a 2-Star Shield
  • Equip a 2-Star Armor
  • Equip a 2-Star Weapon

Tier 3

The final Tier is where the only the most experienced Knights may explore this area. This Tier encompasses the area from Emberlight down to the Core. Here a knight will want to have the best equipment available on Cradle, most of which is only available via crafting. Here there are Bull Chromalisks, Ash Wolvers and Rock Jellies blocking the path to the Core. Powerful beings such as Lord Vanaduke can be found dwelling within this Tier. Those Knights full of grit may be fortunate enough to reach the Core and discover what secrets are hidden within Cradle.

To gain access to the Tier a Knight must meet or exceed the following requirements:

  • Equip a 4-Star Helmet
  • Equip a 4-Star Shield
  • Equip a 4-Star Armor
  • Equip a 4-Star Weapon
