As always, use whatever gear you are most comfortable with, as long as it does not interfere with the strategies and success of the squad. Some gear can be significantly more expensive than others, so you should always factor in economics when considering loadout options for missions. Will the gear help with only a few specific areas, or many? Will it pay for itself quickly, if at all? There is usually more than one way to solve problems - these are what work for many players.

The dangers beneath the Apocrea's plateau are unpredictable, so it's important to stock up on Shadow and Freeze resistant gear with speed buffs & weapons that will make your trip less deadly. Knights may never know what unexpected surprises lurks around every corner in there, even with the areas randomized, so it's highly important to stay alert.

• Black Kat Cowl (for dealing a lot of damage and increased movement)
• Chaos Cowl (for dealing a lot of damage and charge time reduction)

• Black Kat Raiment (for dealing a lot of damage and increased movement)

• Swiftstrike Buckler (for damage speed increase)
• Barbarous Thorn Shield (for sword power increase)

• Electron Vortex (for the tombstones)
• Shivermist Buster (for the tombstones & freezing souls in their tracks, but not Freezing Bombies or Pale Scarabs)
• Blitz Needle (for dealing with spawns)
