About Me

Hello, thanks for visiting my page!

My goal in game is to be as helpful as I can to new and returning players, write the history that I still know of the playerbase, meet some new friends, and hopefully reconnect with some old ones!

My story as a Knight on Spiral Knights starts as a player of the game Whirled. Due to this and the variable nature of online gaming, you may know me by a couple different names. These days I mostly go by "Steel". (Though, I'd like to make note I am not Steel.

Whirled Years (2008-2013)

A game created by Three Rings which would ultimately change the course of my life. After a couple real life friends put me on to it, I became absolutely enthralled. I learned quickly that here I could be friends with anybody by just reaching a hand out. In each and every room I visited I'd make sure everyone had an invite from me and I quickly became friends with a little over 70% of the games active population. Whether you were my first real friend "deidara", a fellow Wyvern-afker, a part of the AoF crew, one of my trade merchant friends, or one of what I'd call "The Creator Crew". Your friendship during that timeframe of my life truly meant the world to me, it always will, so thank you. I'm going to leave a list of Knights on my friends list below and I've come across a few obvious Whirled friends who I never got to add on Spiral Knights, so I'll include links to those profiles as well.

Golden Age (2011-2014)

Upon receiving an invite from Kuro, I decided to hop in to Three Rings' newest IP way back in 2011. Again, I was instantly enthralled and began hard work on accomplishing a set of Vog armor. During this time I befriended a player by the name of Subversion. Through our friendship and my friendship with some Whirled members already in the guild, I was invited to apply to become a member of "Guild". After a short test with our lord and savior, Vanaduke, I was added to their ranks and began working my hardest to become a member other Knights could count on. With the help of Biznasty, Subversion, and one other I have forgotten(my apologies it has been many years), I was able to complete a couple Shadow Lairs shortly after their release. Never one for Lockdown, I only ever filled on the off chance Guild needed another representative. I found much more joy in being a sherpa for the clockworks, so I could often be found helping new guildmates or new players complete their first boss or accomplish a new achievement. After Guild disbanded, I became a solo player and actively chose not to join any guilds as the majority of my friends from Whirled or Guild had since moved on to bigger and better things.

Silent Years (2015-2017)

Between 2014-2015 I had been mostly inactive, but would often jump on for certain events. In 2016, I decided I wanted to be a bit more active on the game and start getting after a few of the things I had always wanted to do but never had the skill or time. To do so, I decided I needed to join a guild again. While many guilds had come and gone in my time, there was one I had my sights set on which had been there since day one. Echo of Silence. After tracking down the application I joined up and quickly began to fill the old roll I once had with Guild. During this time I crafted some of the newer sets which hadn't be present in the game and gave my knight an overhaul. As with anything, life got the better of me and I again left the game in 2017.

The Solitude (2018-2023)

After returning some time later, I noticed I had been removed from Echo Of Silence which was to be expected. I decided I'd only join a guild if someone really wanted me there but otherwise I was content to play solo. Much of what I was looking for in the game is possible solo and I knew I wouldn't be around much. In 2019 I was invited to play Destiny 2 for the first time, which ultimately pulled me away from all other games during this timeframe. Destiny would go on to become my most played game ever(set aside the Pokemon & Forza franchises) and it is there that much of my skill from this game and others was utilized. My stance on carrying others in harder content remained and I have carried many a new player over the years through Grandmaster content, Dungeons, & Raids.

2024+

With the completion of Destiny's main story in "The Final Shape", I have been looking for another game to get into. Destiny took up much of my time over the past 5 years, so much so that I find myself with a fair amount of time on my hands. I've started playing Spiral Knights again after all this time and have joined the guild Vega. Additionally, I'm making an effort to get my personal wiki completed and help others to do the same! That being said, please do leave my wiki as I've personally edited it. I would really appreciate it!
