− | Shock can be a very useful thing, as it is almost like half fire, half freeze. Now, to become a master of shock isn't as hard as you might think. Here is a guide on how to easily reach shock master for any user.
| |
− |
| |
− | =='''Basics of Shock'''==
| |
− |
| |
− | Shock is at the same time one of the best and worse statuses in the game. While it is terrible on lone monsters and deals a fraction of the damage that fire does, it also damages surrounding monsters and interrupts attacks. This has the following impact:
| |
− | * Shocked enemies within close proximity of each other have the potential to do large amounts of damage to each other. With enough enemies, this damage can even exceed the damage from fire.
| |
− | * The damage from shock is considered elemental damage, so it deals MORE damage to Undead and Constructs, and LESS damage to Gremlins and Beasts
| |
− | * Shock can prevent slower enemies that have longer attack cooldowns from attacking as often.
| |
− |
| |
− | Against players, shock is a nightmare because the spasms it deals interrupt all actions, and leave the player a sitting duck vulnerable to hostile attacks. The damage, while low, can still be dangerous because it bypasses Sonic Mode, killing you after a monster attacks just like fire can. Unlike fire though, the damage from shock can be blocked, although to do so one must keep their shield raised when they have a spasm.

| |
− | =='''Basic Armor and Shield Equipping (+ Sword Reference)'''==
| |
− |
| |
− | The basic, beginner shock armor is the Circuit Breaker Set, including the Circuit Breaker Helm, Circuit Breaker Armor, and Circuit Breaker Shield. It is highly suggested to have these items when starting out. There is also the sword Static Edge, which is recommended for your first sword.
| |
− |
| |
− | Next step is to get to your 2 Star Equipment. You will want too buy the recipes for the upgrade of Circuit Breaker Helm and Armor to Volt Breaker Helm and Armor, but not so fast on the Volt Breaker Shield. The shield, Owlite Shield, (which is a pretty popular shield) has Shock Protection, and is more long term. Get the Owlite Shield, and you can ditch the Circuit Breaker Shield. For your sword, Static Edge, you can upgrade it to Shocking Edge, but it is highly recommended not to. It is suggested to get a Brandish, for it can become a Shockburst Brandish, which is pretty long term. Once you gave the Brandish, Volt Breaker Helm and Shield, and the Owlite Shield, not only do you have just 2 Star armor, but Teir 2 Clearance, bringing us to the next stage.
| |
− |
| |
− | This is where things get longer, but a whole lot funner. Now that you have Teir 2 Clearance, you can defeat the boss level named "The Roarmulus Twins." They give out a Token called the "Bark Module", and with twenty 20 of them, you can get some new equipment! They have Quicksilver Mail and Helm, which are 3 Star Armor equipment. Manage to get 40 if them, (which should be around 14-15 times beating the boss, since usually 3 tokens are given each time defeating the twins) you can get both your armor and helmet. Upgrade your shield to Horned Owlite Shield and your Brandish to Shockburst Brandish, and you gave your 3 Star Stuff all good to go!
| |
− |
| |
− | Getting to 4 Star and 5 Star isn't to difficult from there on out, for it's pretty straight forward. Upgrade your Shield to Wise Owlite Shield then to Grey Owlite Shield, your Shockburst Brandish to Boltbrand then Voltedge, and Quicksilver Mail and Helm to Charged Quicksilver Mail and Helm, then finally to Mercurial Mail and Helm. For those who collect 30 Almirian Seals from the Boss Lord Vanaduke, then get the Blackened Crest Shield, then upgrade it to the Crest of Almire, it is a more effective shield against Shadow Damage, similar to Grey Owlite Shield but with Shadow resistance instead of Elemental resistance.

− | =='''Basic Shock Gunner Guide'''==
| |
− |
| |
− | Now maybe your looking for a gun to use or full shock gunner, either way this is the guide you can use.
| |
− |
| |
− | Now, it is not advised to get a gun until 2 Star stuff, but if you really want to get going, you can use the temporary gun, Zapper. When you get too 2 Star Stuff, a Voltech Alchemer is more than recommended. Also recommended is the Pulsar, which three star form, Kilowatt Pulsar, can cause shock. You can obtain the Pulsar by collecting 15 Bark Moduals and then buying it at Brinks, the Token Vendor. For the Voltech Alchemer, just upgrade it to the Voltech Alchemer Mk II, then Volt Driver, then Storm Driver. For the Pulsar, upgrade it to Kilowatt Pulsar, then Gigawatt Pulsar, then Polaris. Now, since both guns do Elemental Damage, it is suggested to find another weapon to use or to just stay clear of Beasts and Gremlins.

− | =='''Basic Shock Bomb Guide'''==
| |
− |
| |
− | Bombs are quite the up for most shock players, because there are three different types of powerful bombs!
| |
− |
| |
− | Now, it is not suggested, but if you are wanting to start off with a bomb, Static Flash is your best choice, however it can only be obtained by purchasing the starter pack for $20. After you proceed past the 1* star items, this bomb can still be used to great effect in Tier 1 Lockdown.
| |
− |
| |
− | Crystal Bomb and Static Vaporizer are the 2 Star bombs. It is highly suggested to get Crystal Bomb (warning about getting it upgraded to rock salt bomb: there is another path, going to 5* instead of only 4* and way better, though no shock effect), and while it doesn't cause shock, it can be turned into the Ionized Salt Bomb, which does. Crystal Bombs range is also a good replacement for a gun, making it very useful to bombers. Not only that, but it does normal and piercing damage, helping against the Beasts and Fiends. Static Bomb does elemental damage, and is almost sure to get shocked. This bomb you can walk through, so it isn't the best idea for crowd control. It's better to try to avoid this bomb unless you want to give the monsters a positive shock.
| |
− |
| |
− | 3 Star Bombs is where it gets fun. The bomb Electron Charge is a great choice to get. It sucks your opponents in and gives them a good shocking, then boom! This bomb can be obtained through Sullivan, who will trade you the recipe for 50 Krogmo Coins, which are revived for participating in the Blast Network. Don't forget to upgrade Crystal Bomb into Rock Salt Bomb and Static Capacitor into Lightning Capacitor!
| |
− |
| |
− | After that 4 Star and 5 Star are pretty straight forward. Your Electron Charge to Electron Bomb then Electron Vortex. Rock Salt Bomb to Ionized Salt Bomb. Also Lightning Capacitor to Plasma Capacitor then Voltaic Tempest.
