Recipe
Fires a slow moving non-damaging projectile that will orbit the enemy after hitting them.
+
If an enemy has explosive charges orbiting when struck by a basic attack from this weapon, all charge rounds surrounding target will detonate damaging target and enemies nearby.
+
Charge attacks on enemies will linger for an extended period of time, allowing multiple to be applied before being detonated.  Each orb will rotate for about 20 seconds before disappearing. Charge Time is much faster than most weapons.
+
Any catalyzer weapon can detonate any explosive charges, it is not restricted to only your own charge rounds.

The regular shots share damage with unexpanded  Polaris, Supernova, and status alchemers. While the shots have the same power as its cousin, Biohazard, the charge attack is stronger against its neutral targets, and almost as strong against its specialty ones.

Offenses:
Damage type(s) and Attack Speed influence combat. The attack style of the weapon in relation to the combat environment is also important. Consider both when choosing weapons to wield.

Stats

Abilities:
Boosts and Penalties are both considered "abilities" in general. Many items don't have any special abilities. See the Abilities page for details. Some enemies are immune to certain status conditions - see individual status pages for details.

This item doesn't have any special abilities.

CTR:
All weapons gain these CTR bonuses as they level.
 • Level 5+: CTR: Low
 • Level 10: CTR: Medium

The Neutralizer is a 5-star handgun.

Description

You'd be surprised at the number of practical applications to be had from two substances that, when combined, leave literally quite nothing in their wake. Neutralizer bullets envelop the enemy in an energy field that explodes after taking damage. — Tooltip

Combat

Basic Attack

Fires a very slow moving blue projectile up to 9 squares away, allowing up to 3 shots before reload. Bullets from this gun tags any enemy it touches.

Charge Attack

Fires a very slow moving energy orb that has a range of 9 squares. The recoil from the attack pushes back the player's Knight 2/3 of a square when firing. If the enemy is struck by a charge attack from this weapon while the orb is in orbit, it will detonate, damaging and knocking back the target and all nearby enemies. Having an enemy tagged with multiple orbs will increase the size of the explosion. Any undetonated orbs will expire after 20 seconds. Orbs that are not yours are not restricted to your own gun, meaning any player with any level of the Catalyzer can detonate the orbs.

Damage

The following damage values represent the weapon at its completed level, without any UV or bonus from other equipment, and are listed as a range found from the first to last floor of each stratum.

Note: The explosions are weaker than those of Biohazard, but the charge attack is stronger.
Neutralizer's Damage Table
Stratum 1 Stratum 2 Stratum 3 Stratum 4 Stratum 5 Stratum 6
Charge Attack 54 - 63 76 - 88 147 - 160 168 - 180 274 - 345 380 - 421
Charge Explosion 13 - 14 17 - 20 34 - 35 36 - 38 58 - 73 79 - 83
