About Us

<Cloud Nine> is a rising premier guild of Spiral Knights. Our mission is to be at the forefront and leader of accomplishing Spiral Knight end-game content. We strive to master the Clockworks through improving ourselves continuously by learning and playing. Our rigorous rank structure enforces our purpose. Rank advancement in the guild is based entirely on good ability and character.

Cloud Nine means "bliss or a state of extreme happiness."

Hello fellow guildies and lurkers. This page is still a work in progress. I've been very busy lately. See below for more information about our guild policy and events. Also, a formal guild website with forums is in the works as well. I would like to share with you a bit of my reason for starting this guild. My dream is to build a guild that players can gather, hone their skills, become better players over time. Through organization and personal determination, I will make this dream fulfilled. If you are a member of <Cloud Nine> already, thank you for all you do. I hope everyone has a safe Thanksgiving (if you celebrate it) and stay tuned for more to come!

Ongoing Events

Win Ash's Cash!

Earn a chance to win 1,500 crowns daily! Whenever Ashiram logs in, ALL ONLINE members of <Cloud Nine> will be automatically entered into a lottery. Each member is assigned a number (based on online order). Ashiram will use a random number generator to select a number. The winning number gets 1,500 crowns! Minimum payout is 1,500 crowns. There is no maximum. Event can happen more than once in a day.

One-On-One Soloing Lessons

Learn how to beat Snarby, JK, Twins, Vana, even Tier 3 Danger Rooms all by yourself! Ashiram is offering one-on-one soloing lessons to teach you what you need to survive in the Clockworks alone. Hands-on training and constructive analysis on the spot. Lessons are by appointment only. Contact Ashiram for more information.

Shadow Runs

Any guild member wishing to participate in a Shadow Run, please contact an Officer or GM to arrange one. Guild members that need to craft gear from the Sanctuary Alchemy Machine are encouraged to apply.

Recruiting Status

OPEN (as of 11/22/11)

Types of Status

OPEN – We are accepting ALL applicants that meet our requirements.
LIMITED – We are ONLY accepting EXCEPTIONAL applicants that surpass our requirements.
CLOSED – We are NOT accepting any applicants at this time.

Requirements

List of Prerequisites

Proficiency – Having skill at Spiral Knights i.e. good at the game (decent enough to contribute meaningfully to a Tier 2 or higher run).
Character – A friendly person who is helpful to others and advances the cause of our guild and in part all of the Spiral Knight community. Beggars and bad attitudes need not apply.
Armaments – 4.5 Star Gear (subjective) or higher.

Applicants meeting the above requirements will be offered an invitation to join the guild with the rank of Recruit.
- Exceptional candidates NOT meeting gear requirements are still encouraged to apply. A "Member Test" will be required immediately. Upon successful completion of "Member Test", applicant will be offered an invitation to join the guild with the rank of Member.
- All recruits are subject to a FULL inspection by an Officer/GM.

Contact an Officer or GM of <Cloud Nine> and request an audience for a short interview.

Rank System

Cloud Nine's rank system is structured with rigorous tests to ensure that the BEST of our guild have the opportunity and chance to be promoted in a FAIR and EQUAL method. Each rank will denote your experience and skill within the guild. Ranks are achieved through taking and passing our "Rank Tests" (see Promotion Requirements).

Please note that you are NOT required to take ANY sort of test if you do not wish to.

Officers are the leaders of our guild. They have mastered all content and our ambassadors to the Spiral Knight community.

Veterans are the elite warriors of our guild. They have completely mastered Tier 3 and are ready for Shadow Lairs.

Members are the soldiers of our guild. They those who have completely mastered Tier 2.

Promotion Requirements

All guild players are eligible for promotion up to the rank of Veteran at any time by taking a "Rank Test".
"Rank Tests" will be graded in the entirety of the run (in two sections) to assess teamwork (the run itself) and skill (soloing the boss).
All promotions/invites by Officers require in-game mail to GM for final approval (unless a GM is present).
7-day waiting period before retaking any test.

Rank Tests

Officer Rank Test

Must be a guild Veteran.
7-Day guild membership waiting period minimum before attempting "Officer Rank Test".
Unanimous decision for promotion by current Officers/GMs. Votes must be in-person or mailed to current GM.
Must be able to complete the following:
- 2 x Shadow Lair
  - 1st Shadow Run: Player’s Choice
  - 2nd Shadow Run: UFSC
- Officer candidate must provide for BOTH Shadow Keys. Officers/GMs will pay for ¼ of the key cost.
- Officer candidate will be evaluated the ENTIRE run on overall skill and teamwork.
3 x Officers/GM are required to administrate the "Officer Rank Test" (the GM must be present).

Veteran Rank Test

Must be a guild Member ("Member Rank Test" can be waived for "Veteran Rank Test" on a case-by-case basis only with Officer/GM approval).
Must be FULLY 5-star geared.
Must be able to SOLO (3-man or greater) the following with NO deaths:
- Lord Vanaduke (Maximum 6 Pills allowed for the Vanaduke. No more than 3 can be used for the 1st 3 Phases).
- Any Firestorm Citadel room, at any time at the Officer/GM’s discretion. (Max. 8 rooms. Exceptions: d24's gun puppy room, d27's last room, etc.)
2 x Veteran/Officers/GM are required to administrate "Veteran Rank Test" (at least 1 Officer/GM must be present)

Member Rank Test

Must be a guild Recruit (or exceptional non-guild candidate)
Must be able to SOLO (3-man or greater) the following with NO deaths:
- Jelly King or Roarmulus Twins (Player’s choice. Maximum 3 Pills allowed for the Boss)
- Any Royal Jelly Palace or Ironclaw Munitions Factory room during the run, at any time at the Officer/GM’s discretion (Max. 4 rooms)
2 x Member/Veteran/Officer/GM are required to administrate "Member Rank Test" (at least 1 Officer/GM must be present)
