Offenses:
Damage type(s) and Attack Speed influence combat. The attack style of the weapon in relation to the combat environment is also important. Consider both when choosing weapons to wield.

The Polaris is a 5-star handgun.

Description

It's said that the explosions caused by this stellar sidearm are so bright you'll always be able to find your way in the darkness. Polaris shots become more powerful the further they travel.

Expanded pellet and explosion

Attacks

Basic Attack

Up to three energy pellets per reload. About halfway along the shot the pellet expands and explodes on contact, dealing knockback. The small pellets do not explode.

Charge Attack

A single expanded pellet that explodes on contact.

Damage

The following damage values represent the weapon at its completed level, without any UV or bonus from other equipment, and listed as a range found from the first to last floor of each stratum.

The charge attack shares its damage with Nova Driver and Umbra Driver, and the expanded shots match the damage values of those guns as well. Unexpanded shots share damage with Biohazard, Neutralizer and status alchemers. While the unexpanded shot and charge have the same damage as its cousin, Supernova, the expanded shots of Polaris do less damage against neutral targets.

The name Polaris and the weapon's description are references to the star Polaris, commonly known as the North Star. Due to its proximity to the northern celestial pole and its almost motionlessness in the night sky, Polaris is used as navigational star.
