The Shadowsun set is my all time favourite set. The name itself is awesome, and being my favourite colour helps tons. Nameless? Psshh. I've got a name for you and it isn't very nice. Kidding aside, I like it because it can be used with any gun; ASI to me doesn't seem to make too much of a difference with most guns such as Biohazard. CTR is also sort of useless with Antiguas, Pulsars and Magnuses (Magni?) So I picked damage over them.

Swiftstrike is a great shield. One that can help unleash bullet heck by sacrificing defence. I used Swifty before when I was a little knight, it was easy going theough T2 with a 3* Shield. I then was given access to T3 by a friend of mine and realized that it was completely unviable for me. I couldn't dodge Lichen snipers, how was I supposed to remove my shield? After that fiasco I picked up an Owlite Shield and have loved it. Now that I'm a seasoned pasta platter veteran, I can hold my own. I decided to revisit my old friend.

I get major ASI. One must learn to dodge before attempting to use Swifty in T3. If you can effectively dodge and strafe, this shield is for you. When using it, habits must be changed. Remember that this shield cannot withstand multiple hits. Shielding is a last resort, try and dodge everything if possible and the only time to use it many times is when shield bumping. Even I have trouble strafing through bullets in arenas whilst swap shooting. (I make it sound as if I can dodge. Which I can't.) Don't know what else ro say about it, it's only a shield.

About Me

I'm a bit of an neat freak, though if you checked my room, you would think otherwise. I have an unhealthy addiction to milk, Eddie Izzard, and this game. I admit, when I found out that a game this good could run on my craptop, I was surprised. I'm an active player and have found a wonderful community through the guild Knights and Day.

What? You're wondering about the name? As you can see, my username is Reach980 (B/c Reach is the coolest R word of all of ever and 980 is my favourite number), b/c I planned for a variant of that name to be my knight name. Alas, it was taken, so I settled with Sol-Xii. Sol, b/c of my love of Latin, and XII for 12. (If someone finds the hidden meaning within my name, good job.)

About Sol-XII

I started off as a swordie, but transitioned into Gunslinging near the end so I have tons of 4* Swords I don't use, and a CTR Med Biohazard w/o rolling that I'm quite proud of. My Argent, not so much (No UV on it. Yet.)

I'm also always found with a Shadowsun Stetson and Ash Tail Coat, hence my nickname Ash Stetson. (Given to me by a Duke Snarby) Why I wear it? I don't know, maybe grey and black and red look quite sexy. Still don't know if any accessory goes with hats. . .

Disregard the Ash Tail, I'm Gunslinger all the way.

Views on Stuff

I'm a Gunslinger all the way, so no comments about swords. I also need to practise my Driver Swap Shot. Maybe Umbra with Storm for PvP. Ice just sort of stinks when you're swap shooting (In my opinion), and I prefer raw damage from Umbra or Nova instead of Magma.

Note: The following is all opinion, but if I get a fact wrong (e.g. Alchemers have a Sleep inducing branch), then feel free to correct me.

Equipment-Argent Peacemaker icon.png Argent Peacemaker

Argent Peacemaker is one of my favourites, although I may be quite biased. I started my transition into slinging my guns around the AP/Sentenza patch when they went from horrible overall weapons, to quite useful. I tested out and had rage crafted Prismatechs and I just couldn't work with the weak damage (What I didn't know is that once they got to at least 4*, they became the highest DPS guns.) I already had an Antigua and it was great for everything, well at least in my 3* mind, so I stuck to it. I AP'd in RT, I AP'd in JK, I tried to AP in FSC, but that was near impossible with my Sunset Set, and my skillset.

To me, this gun is my personal favourite. Being my first 5* Weapon, I treasured it and took it everywhere. Sort of a big mistake for pure Gunslingers who already are very mobile, and could find better DPS guns in the form of the Drivers. Argent Peacemaker is a sidearm gun, it sacrifices DPS for mobility and speed, amazing for Swordies, to get some quick shots at turrets. It is also a wonderful gun for Bombers, but they may prefer a sword. The charge for this thing is horrible, same with the other Antigua branches. You shoot a ton of bullets, bam bam bam eagle. It looks amazing in the ATH when showing off, but roots you in place for way too long.

Verdict: A good gun overall, but against the enemies that it targets, there are harder hitting guns that work much better.

Equipment-Sentenza icon.png Sentenza

Sentenza is a wicked gun, the description alone can tell you that. Its use in battle? Equally wicked. Sentenza And AP have the same mechanics, so you might think that they're the same thing. True, but with a different damage type. This obviously changes its uses in PvE, AP has never needed to really snipe down dodging menders. They are wonderful with Gremlins, making short work of Menders quite quickly. You might find that it isn't as powerful against Slimes as they tend to appear in groups (save Lichen Colonies, but those are technically groups already), but Sentenza along with its Elemental counterpart, are amazing for single target DPS, where Alchemers are quite awkward. Same eagle charge, and same usefulness. Almost none.

Verdict: Great against Gremlins which may dodge their way from an Umbra bullet. On Lichens, an Umbra would be better.

Equipment-Biohazard icon.png Biohazard

Ah, Biohazard. This gun has the highest potential damage of all guns, due to the charges not inflicting any damage until set off. This is a very challenging gun to use, but hellishly fun to. This gun should be used for soloing, because usually some of your faster DPSing teammates will try to pop your bubble by letting you not blow it up. In PvP this gun is useless with the invincibility frames, and if one removes them via shock, it is extremely difficult to hit someone with a charge that moves like molasses. Has an extremely quick charge.

Verdict: Horrible to use in a group that aren't also using Catalyzers, but great in a solo run. Difficult to take out Gremlins, but the charge makes short work of them.

Equipment-Polaris icon.png Polaris

Ah, Polaris. I'm not saying that because of my fondness for it, so that should be an uh-oh sign. I've never used a Polaris, so I only really know what the wiki tells me. Though I haven't used it, it has been used against me both in PvP and PvE. It is and exploding bullet after all, with shock too. This is spammed a lot in LD, some people I've seen doing a great job of pissing the other team off. That's what it seems like it built for, if it isn't pissing your opponents in LD off, it's pissing your teammates off in PvE with horribly unreliable knockback. The DPS on this gun is lackluster and is outshined by Nova by Funslingers, but seemingly indispensable to Boredies. Polaris is a great turret gun, it flinches them really easily by normal shot alone.

Verdict: Talk to someone who uses Polaris well. Gunslingers shouldn't be too interested in this for PvE.

Equipment-Nova Driver icon.png Nova Driver

Nova Driver is the highest DPSing Elemental gun of all of ever. Well of course, it shoots freaking rainbows. During the time I had my Argent Peacemaker, I was (for reasons unknown) I was also rage crafting Prismatechs. Originally I wanted to use AP as my source of Elemental damage, but when I got the best UV of all time (At least, the best one I ever got), I had to switch. ASI High and Fiend Medium. It was pretty boss. Those UVs set my Arsenal on the right path. I had learned to properly use ricochets, and internal ricocheting on stationary targets. It's still a tad difficult for me to internal a moving one.

Nova Driver is, like I said, the highest DPSing Elemental gun of all of ever. All thanks to the ricochet, if used properly. This is what is considered to be the true Gunslinger's gun, and requires you to take time when using it, it isn't as straightforward and as easy to use as AP, if one does't utilize the ricochet it becomes a bad weapon. The charge shot of this gun is wonderful, it deals crazy powerful DPS and ricochets both to the left and to the right, allowing an easier time to make well placed ricochets.

Verdict: Nova is great, but may take some practice to master. Once you do so though, it becomes a fun and powerful gun to use on both Undeads and Constructs extremely well.

Equipment-Umbra Driver icon.png Umbra Driver

Unfortunately, I swapped out my Biohazard for this bad boy. Or girl. Right now, I'm not regretting it one bit. I'm sort of missing the charges, but Umbra makes killing Slimes fast and easy.

It's useful in LD because Skolvers and Vogs are more likely to appear than Snarbies, so it deals a good amount of damage. I pair it up with my Nova (Which has an ASI) to make swap shooting easier. Like I said, it's great in PvE, good against Slimes and good against Gremlins.

Verdict: I absolutely love the purple bouncy death bullets of death. Great in PvE, PvP and eating jell-o.

Equipment-Storm Driver icon.png Storm Driver

I was convinced by a friend or guildy to stop using Nova with my Umbra when LD swap shooting, so I chose Storm over Hail due to my preference of shock instead of freeze. Right now it's still a Volt Driver, and I'm trying to rack up some funds to upgrade it. Heating it is also a problem.

Even at 4*, it's still remarkable in LD, dealing a good amount of damage and dealing shock as well. I still prefer my Nova Driver, but that may change when I upgrade it. We will see.

Verdict: None yet.

Equipment-Callahan icon.png Callahan

Callahan, I remember having many fights with someone over Callahan vs. Blitz Needle. It was a poor choice on my part because I was using this as a sidearm with a Blizzbrand. I stopped using Callahan when Wolvers became a joking matter, and I could take them out with a Swift Flourish at Tier 3. I loved this gun, by turning off the damage numbers it was if I was a sniper and was dealing ok damage.

This gun is good for Wolvers, but outshined by BN. This gun is more of a Devilite gun, the bullets fast as hell, and easy to recover from shots if you miss, compared to BN's normal shots. The charge is lackluster, doing ok damage, but leaving you on your arsenal as a result. This leaves you vulnerable, and shouldn't be used except for some laughs in the ATH.

Verdict: I think the Magni are getting a buff. Wait till then.

On a less Seerus note: I find it funny that I'm wearing my own Shadow sometimes.

The Shadowsun set is my all time favourite set. The name itself is awesome, and being my favourite colour helps tons. Nameless? Psshh. I've got a name for you and it isn't very nice. Equipment-Swiftstrike Buckler icon.png Swifty

Equipment-Recon Cloak icon.png Sneaky Bastard Cape

I play mostly play as a Recon in LD, my motto being: "Out of sight and out of mind until I shoot some bullets into your mind." I use the Driver Swap Shot technique when I'm confident I can get a kill, but I prefer a stealthier approach by Umbra sniping. Trying to craft a Justifier Hat against FFs at the moment. It feels like I get killed too quickly, but that might be because I stink something nasty.

The name? It's called that because when I'm a Striker I'm Fastard. When I'm a Guardian, I'm Fat Astard. All kidding to the front, not really. I just like calling Recon Cloaks Sneaky Bastard Capes.

Swap Shooting

I am absolutely terrible at Swap Shooting. I thought I was good when I could Shock then deal Shadow damage in an instant, then I found out you had to shield too? My rhythm is terrible and I mess up a lot. Shoot-Switch-Shield rinse and repeat. I mess up on the Shielding bit too much. Can anyone give me some tips on how to Swap Shoot effectively and what controls they're using, that would be great!

I also absolutely hate UVs that are low, high, or ultra. Those odd UV levels make me shudder.
