Jigsaw Valley

The Jigsaw Valley is a region. Regions categorize levels with similar characteristics that have been incorporated into the Clockworks.
Description
Appearing to be sky islands ripped apart and put back together again as if it were a puzzle this world can sometimes be confusing to navigate. Unfortunately it also seems to be home to a host of mindless slimes and constructs who do not seem to mind its erratic layout. — Gate Icons
Notes
Each level map is fixed.
When accessible via the arcade, they are usually found in a rotation of 2 levels in the depth they occupy. Levels with similar names group together. For example, Emerald Axis is never in a rotation with Jade Tangle or Perimeter Promenade, only Emerald Axis II. Rotation time seems to always be 3 minutes or less. They are a fairly common sight in arcade gates.
Levels are populated by multitudes of Constructs and Gremlins, despite the gate map description claiming Slimes.
Similar grassy terrain can be seen in levels of the Aurora Isles and Treasure Vault.
Jade Tangle and Jade Tangle II are the only Jigsaw Valley levels in which Brambles are found, perhaps emphasizing "tangle."
History
- release 2011-04-04: Levels of this region have been available for exploration since launch.
- release 2011-07-20: Monster balancing to better reflect stratum behavior.
- release 2011-08-02: More gremlins added to levels.
Strategy
A shadow sword will take care of gremlins and is fine against constructs. A bomb such as the Obsidian Crusher or Dark Retribution will help quickly defeat groups of enemies here. Certain levels will have multitudes of Gun Puppies and other enemies spawn across gaps which can take time to get around, so bringing a handgun is a good precaution.
Lore
According to lore provided by the 6-1 Mission: Axes of Evil and 7-3 Mission: Beyond the Axes of Evil, levels of the Jigsaw Valley are sites of Gremlin logging operations. The purpose of this activity seems to be harvesting resources for nefarious schemes such as "Project R."
