A Color Pattern is a set of three colors. This page is a list of Color Patterns used in Spiral Knights to "style" or "theme" items and other entities. For more information, see the notes section of this page.

List

Standard

Many items are colored with these patterns, including combat gear, costumes, and accessories.

A large number of different kinds of Lockbox accessories are usually styled using these color patterns.

Special

These patterns are associated with various special effects, textures, and/or other unusual behaviors.

Several rare lockbox items, as well as many temporarily available items from events, supply depot sales, and/or promotions are styled using these color patterns.

Recolor

These colors are usually used to style certain types of items, usually in relation to an event and/or promotion.

Other items can use these patterns, not just "recolored" items.

Clockworks

These colors are used to distinguish the appearances of status stratums in the environment of the game.

Guild Halls and several items use these color patterns too, not just combat environments.

Miscellaneous

There are several items in spiral knights that use the following color patterns, but these patterns are not typically "named" within the item name or are simply sort of "background," "odd," or "default" colors.

Notes

The terms "color style," "color theme," and "color pattern," as well as many others can be confusing. To clarify:

"Style": Seen in the official tooltip description of various prize boxes in-game. It is a good term, but is difficult to use uniformly for all items that use a named coloration because items are often "styled" with a color pattern, but also use other color codes, so style gets mixed up with "theme" quite frequently.
"Theme": An item is themed with a color pattern if it uses one or more colors in a color pattern. It is possible for items to be themed with more than one color pattern.
"Pattern": a set of three color codes that are easily distinguished by the naming convention and/or behavior of several items.
The names of some color patterns (like "GM Purple") are chosen by users and are not derived from the naming convention of the items themed with said color pattern.

Terms such as "standard," "special," "other" and so on apply to Color Pattern Groups. These are mostly derived from their colloquial use often seen in-game and in forums throughout Spiral Knights history.
