Compared to other areas, Concrete Jungles are a rare sight in arcade gates, with ''Briar Bone Barrage'' possibly being the rarest level in the arcade because the stratum combinations necessary for these levels do not often occur with enough room for the levels to generate in a cluster down through Tier 3 depths, which seems necessary for ''Briar Bone Barrage'' to appear.

'''Briar Bone Barrage''' is an arena-like level where players must step on party buttons and fight a series of waves that must be defeated before moving forward to the next area. There are three party buttons in the level, with the final button releasing a toxilargo as well as several drouls.

The Concrete Jungle is a region. Regions categorize levels with similar characteristics that have been incorporated into the Clockworks.

Description

This long forgotten city was reclaimed by nature and then by the legions of the undead. Now it is a vile nest of malady, home to all manners of toxic monsters, living and otherwise.

Notes

The Concrete Jungle area has been available for exploration since release 2011-04-04 when the game officially launched.

Each level map is fixed (vs. composed of random segments). When accessible via the arcade, they are found in a rotation of 1-2 levels in the depth they occupy depending on the level. Rotation time seems to always be 3 minutes or less:

  • Blighted Boulevard levels are always found in a rotation of 2 with each other.
  • Totem Trouble levels are always found in a rotation of 2 with each other.
  • Briar Bone Barrage is exclusive to Tier 3 and is always the only level in the depth it occupies.

Compared to other areas, Concrete Jungles are a rare sight in arcade gates, with Briar Bone Barrage possibly being the rarest level in the arcade because the stratum combinations necessary for these levels do not often occur with enough room for the levels to generate in a cluster down through Tier 3 depths, which seems necessary for Briar Bone Barrage to appear.

Levels are populated by multitudes of Drouls and a few Slimes. Briar Bone Barrage is the only place the Toxilargo monster can be encountered.

Similar urban terrain can be seen in Dark City and Devilish Drudgery areas.

Strategy

An elemental sword will take care of undead and is fine against slimes. A bomb such as the Electron Vortex will help quickly defeat groups of enemies here. Bring a knockback handgun such as the Wildfire. The vortex as well as knockback help pull or push enemies out of brambles and totem range if shield bumping doesn't manage the task.
