March of the Tortodrones is a prestige mission.
Overview
Description:
Pieces of fallen Tortodrones and clusters of Dark Matter have been showing up in the Clockworks, leading Spiral HQ to believe that the Fiends are somehow linked to the disappearance of those once-mythical beings. In order to discover what the Fiends are up to, you will need to find a way to unlock one of their Grim Gates and travel through it. Spiral HQ suspects that the glyphs that the Fiends carry with them might be the keys to opening the gate yourself.
Objective:
Investigate the Ancient Grove and put a stop to a Fiendish plot.
Runthrough
First Floor
Name: Ancient GroveDepth: 0
This lobby is similar to the Gloaming Wildwoods. A Mysterious Alchemy Machine can be found here. Basil is located top left.
As the Fiendish Memo from Morgral'm indicates (interact with screens in front of the Grim Gate to read it); a member of the party needs to use the Fiendish ID Card in order to access the next level. To "use" the ID card, simply have one in your arsenal, and interact with the portal in the middle of the Grim Gate. Doing so will remove the chains, consume the ID card, and lock the party. The squad can proceed to the next floor once everyone is standing on the pad.
Memo from Morgral'm.
"The Grim Gate requires a Fiendish ID Card
to activate."
Second Floor
Name: Call of the ColossiDepth: Depends on rank.
Players must defeat two corrupted Tortodrones. Devilites and rarely Greavers can spawn infinitely from portals. These portals can be destroyed with regular attacks, but the portals will respawn quickly. Special hazards (Vortex Blocks and Super Explosive Blocks), brambles, and Silkwing respawners can be encountered in various arrangements and quantities.
After defeating the corrupted Tortodrones and heading to the elevator, the party can witness a seemingly infinite stream of Tortodrones marching in the background, this is probably a glimpse of the so-called "Long Migration."
