Prismatic Aspect
From SpiralKnights
Prismatic Aspect refers to the part(s) of an item that are "prismatic." The color of prismatic aspects depends on the personal color of the knight.

Basic Information
When a knight is created, a personal color is one of the things chosen. This color can be changed at any time by buying colors from Vatel, so long as the knight can afford it.
Most things that a knight wears have aspects, or parts, that match this personal color - causing the same armor/helm to look very different from knight to knight. If the coloring of an item behaves this way, it is considered prismatic. Most icons will indicate which part(s) of an item are prismatic by having those parts colored white in the icon. Notice the "sarong" part in the Splash Sarong icon, for example.
A very common prismatic aspect on helms is a sort of stripe across the middle of the top. For armors, the hands and parts of the arms are most often prismatic, as well as any leg parts that may be visible. This is mostly on the body-tight material, whatever it may be, that knights wear under their defenses. Depending on the armor, this material might have more brown aspects than prismatic.
Variability is further increased with the addition of accessories.
In PvP (Lockdown and Blast Network), anything that is considered "prismatic" on a player's visual outfit will temporarily change to the color of the player's team, for the duration of the match.
Eyes and the inner "face" of most helms are prismatic, but a slightly different shade for eyes and a much darker hue for the face.
Battle Sprites have prismatic aspects. Depending on the sprite - eyes, wings, etc. will match the owner's personal color. Decals on the harness will as well.
As of now, there are very few shields or weapons that have prismatic aspects that are designed to match the player's personal color. Here is a list of these items that have parts that match personal color:

Interesting Prismatic Behaviors
Some accessories "shade" the personal color a bit - so one accessory type might be lighter or darker than a different type, even though they're both prismatic.
A full prismatic outfit is vibrant with color. Choosing vivid accessories, such as the Proto Crest or an Eye of Fury can allow a knight to look even more "prismatic" if their personal color matches. These accessories are not prismatic themselves.
Certain items completely ignore personal color. The Dangerous items do this. This behavior hints at a sort of "uniform" for Recon Ranger knights. These outfits have an amber prismatic default and subsequent patterning that is not overrode by the player's personal color.
The Impostoclaus Hat's eyes will always be red, ignoring personal color.
Prismatic accessories either entirely or mostly match the knight's personal color.
Examples of complete prismatic behavior: Twilight Aura, flower, mohawk, long feather. An accessory that attaches to the armor back is the Prismatic Ruinous Crystal - both its zappy effects and physical crystal are entirely prismatic.
If a "prismatic" accessory isn't completely prismatic, the other color used is a light grey. Most accessory types have at least one type that uses prismatic style. Grey doesn't clash with many outfits, and doesn't make an outfit look too light or too dark, so this is appropriate for something prismatic.
Accessories with "Prismatic Aspects" have one or more parts on the accessory which match the player's personal color, with the rest of the color patterns following the style in the accessory's name. Examples: the tips of Mech'tennas, a line on the bottom of bombs on a Bandolier sash, and so on.

All plate items do not show prismatic colors at the same shade the rest of the items in the game do. The prismatic aspects tend to be shaded lighter.
Ultramarine personal color. The plate prismatic aspect is ever so slightly lighter than the hallow scale outfit, and the hallow raiment/winged outfit.
Lag Spikes
Sometimes a "lag spike" can cause some prismatic accessories to "reset" their glowing effects:
Glow eyes used to flash when elevators began to move. This visual is now blocked by interfaces introduced in later updates to the game.
