Notes
This character was introduced with release 2012-04-04 during the first Caketastrophe.
As of release 2013-07-30, she can always be found in The Lab next to a Sprite Food Alchemy Machine. She provides information about the diet of Battle Sprites.
During the Spiral Knights anniversary celebration event (Caketastrophe) she can be found in the Town Square standing between Bulky and Maskwell. She is under pressure trying to bake enough cakes for the festivities, and has infused Dark Matter into the batch, creating the carnivorous Creep Cakes due to the dark powers and chaos that are contained within the purple mineral. After release 2014-03-26, Biscotti was seen walking around Haven for several days before the Anniversary.
In the Event Mission: Total Caketastrophe!, her kitchen has been infested with Creep Cakes.
This NPC's name alludes to a cookie of the same name. Her design seems to be reminiscent of Lead Artist Ian McConville's (Cherub's) wife Jes.[1] [2] [3]

Hi there, PLAYERNAME! As Head Chef of the Skylark I've been assigned to oversee the nutritional development of our new sprite companions. They seem to have really diversified themselves down there in the Clockworks. It will be interesting to see how they develop.MainDo you have any questions about feeding and caring for your sprite?
- How do I feed my battle sprite?
- Tell me about appetite.
- Tell me about favored items.
- Tell me about required items.
- Nothing right now, thanks. (Ends conversation)
How do I feed my battle sprite?
If the player chooses "How do I feed my battle sprite?"
Feeding your battle sprite is easy! Simply open up your battle sprite interface and select your sprite icon. From there you can select a material from your arsenal to drop into the feeding tray.
Once you've queued up a material for your sprite to synthesize, simply click 'feed to sprite' and bon appetite!
- I have other questions. (Goes back to the beginning)
- That's it for now, thanks! (Ends conversation)
Tell me about appetite
If the player chooses "Tell me about appetite"
Sprites have a set appetite that limits the amount of materials they can eat at any one give time. When you feed a material to your sprite, its appetite will deplete. Once full depleted, you will be unable to feed it.
- How does appetite increase?
A sprite's appetite will increase naturally over time, though slowly. To increase appetite quickly, take it for a run in the Clockworks. Absorbing heat from monsters is a great way to burn calories!
- I have other questions. (Goes back to the beginning)
- That's it for now, thanks! (Ends conversation)
Tell me about favored items
If the player chooses "Tell me about favored items"
At any given time a sprite has a 'favored item', a special material that it enjoys eating the most. Feeding one of these to your sprite is a great treat and grants the sprite a lot of heat.
- Where can I acquire these items?
Favored items can be alchemized using this very alchemy machine you see before you. All it takes is two of any one material and some minerals from the Clockworks. Easy!
- I have other questions. (Goes back to the beginning)
- That's it for now, thanks! (Ends conversation)
Tell me about required items
If the player chooses "Tell me about required items"
Required items will appear once your sprite is ready to level up. After your sprite has consumed enough heat, a 'required material' notice will appear above the feeding tray. This material MUST be fed to the sprite in order for it to advance further.
In most cases this is just a standard favored items, but when your sprite is ready to evolve, an Evo Catalyst will be required.
- I have other questions. (Goes back to the beginning)
- That's it for now, thanks! (Ends conversation)
I'm worried about the sprites!
Hi there, I'm Biscotti, Head Chef of the Skylark! We've got a little situation on our hands that may or may not involve sentient, monstrous cakes that may or may not have completely overtaken my kitchen and infested the Clockworks...
Anyway, I've worked it out with the Strangers to provide rewards for turning in slices of cake that prove you've helped eradicate these horrible monsters that may or may not exist.
- This all sounds really strange, but I'm happy to help if I can.
Great! There are two ways to help me out:
You can accept the new Prestige Mission 'Total Caketastrophe' which is available daily.
Or you can journey into the Clockworks and weed out infestations of these 'Creep Cakes' as much as you like. Just look for the tell-tale frosting!
- Again, this is really weird Biscotti, but I'll do my best.
Thanks PLAYERNAME, I appreciate it. And do me a favour, please don't mention this little 'incident' to Spiral HQ...
PLAYERNAME! Am I glad to see you! Things are getting bad down here.
- What's going on, Biscotti?
So here's the thing...I was tasked with baking cakes for the big Spiral Knights Anniversary Celebration and I may have got in a tiny bit over my head when I said I could bake a couple million of them in just a week.
To speed up the process I may have used a teensy weensy bit of pure, unrefined, dark matter instead of baking powder...
In any case it would seem that this new 'recipe' caused the cakes to turn into horrible monsters that have overtaken my kitchen and infested the Clockworks. I'd like to have my kitchen back, so could you please assist me in destroying these horrible Creep Cakes?
- Though my training never included confectionery combat, I'm in!
Great! I'll meet you near the exit once you've cleared them out. Careful though, they seem to have adapted the use of birthday candles as weapons...
After defeating all Creep Cakes in her kitchen:
PLAYERNAME! You did it! I've got my kitchen back!
Remember, you can exchange the Cake Slices you receive for awesome cake helms from Maskwell in the Haven Town Square. It's just like that old baker's saying, 'Wear the hide of your fallen foes to prove your might as a warrior!'
Ok, maybe I just say that.
