This NPC's name is similar to the Spanish word "Muerte", which means "Death", with the last letter being replaced with "y" making it, somehow, a mixture between Spanish and English. This is appropriate, as Muerty is a lost sould with form of a skull, and skull are a symbol to represent Death.
