I was thinking in adding them in some place for people who want to make their userpage. Put them in a list so they can choose the one they want, and if there is not the file, they can upload it. Maybe in the Manual of Style or ... dunno if its correct but in the prestige's page (like a little link or cat where they can be seen)..... LOL i was writing this and then ur msg appear hahaha. Table of Insigns

I have made a table with names I think will work]]. I imagine people will mostly only care about the 45k one. 5k instead of 5,000 is definitive better, for the filename ofcourse, but 5,000 in the /start looks good :). I can upload mine. Does it look blurry? Took a High-16x antialias screenshot and crop it. "Rank" in the Tag

We probably don't need the |rank bit in the tag, as they all start with P for prestige. That little bit in the tag is just to group icons that have different names but similar function together. Being sorted by P of Prestige seems better. I will just add {{icon image}} then :3! And thx ^^! I am picking the colors from good screens and compared them with the Personal Color, trying to be the more exactly i can cuz the crop i made (and mostly in all screens) have some tones and cant just drop the color i pick (sadly xD). If u see/notice something about the files tell me ^^. Im going to do the rest of the icons tomorrow so we can add the delete tag to all the randoms icon xD. Hahaha we both need rest ^^! Yeah they're 24x36, which is the same size as the raw crop from the game files, so I assume you're using the icons found there (rsrc - ui -icon - prestige) with that buffer space around 'em cropped out. What makes me sad is I have a gut feeling the developers make huge beautiful versions of these things at first, but then when they need to get into the game we get a shrunk down version to be reasonable dataspace-wise and we end up with these tiny little things. Stuff about uploading

If they create a wiki and want people to help, why they in game images (like icons) in the wiki with good resolutions? i know Admins have upload somes but others seem like nowhere to be found xD and need to be make --Hikaru 20:50, 9 September 2015 (UTC)

I have no idea. Yes, we make some of them, and sometimes ask admins for them too. In the meantime we do what we can with screenshots and game files. It's a bit dangerous to use game files, because some files are not in the game in use, so you should know exactly what you're doing when you use them, which generally isn't too hard. If you don't have screenshot proof of it in game, don't use the direct game file, but defer to the game file over screenshots because screenshots usually look awful for most stuff, basically. --Novaster 21:06, 9 September 2015 (UTC)

*Hides in a corner.* We can't use spiral spy images on the wiki, but we can...touch up files (we have to for many icons), so, if it's a "representative image of a module"...maybe... Size

Well for the table i think they look good but maybe we can add a tip in how much px would they add to make it look more like in-game :P. 14px in the Card ID looks good but cad/user layout is tinier than the character layout most people use (the tables) but the px have always been optional --Hikaru 02:31, 10 September 2015 (UTC)

Examples

I could clean it up but that would be too much manipulation for something that wouldn't look quite right, with the tools I have. Module-Danger ComLink.png Or this. The angle is different and quite interesting. I'm not sure which would be better to use. But it's probably better to use a visual of the entire module, not just the icon. That skull is used in other places - boss stratum, danger mission cards. So the full module might look better as well as be less confusing. --Novaster 05:43, 10 September 2015 (UTC)

Hurray! And don't worry, a lot of ppl don't know about gate maps. But that makes the wiki even more useful, I think. And players can still use mission gate maps on the wiki to remember or determine what's in the depth of a mission someone else has started, that you want to join and help with, even if you already know how to use the gate map in-game. --Novaster 22:40, 24 October 2015 (UTC)
I tought you had to go and test each map to see the name and the gate-icon haha silly me xD. It does help alot the gate map here, is faster :D! Oh and, didnt know the little Muerty exist, i gonna take a mugshot of him too, but i think i can use the image you already uploaded :P i will have to figure out how to make that "white aura" around him without destroying it. Btw, about Muerty, Muerty's name may be an alussion? you see, Muerte is Death in spanish so "Muerty" sounds like a diminutive of Muerte. "Muerty" sounds like some spanglish name, some kind of alias xD. Dunno what you think. Sometimes i see people who speak english said "muerte" soooo i dunno.

Otherwise the edges are not as smooth. Graphics need to be set to high, otherwise certain special effects, such as sheen, are lost. Get the AA as high as you can. You might have to manipulate this through your graphics card, sometimes SK doesn't register the AA settings change. This is only for capture, many players want to play with settings calibrated for playing without lag etc, not sightseeing. --Novaster 23:03, 31 August 2015 (UTC)

If you captured the rotation with screenshots that must have taken some time. FRAPS will save you a lot of time if you can easily pick out the frame. Were you using steam to screenshot or just regular screenshots? Steam tends to JPEGify things so bleh. And yes, you can save JPEG quality images as pngs. Weep. --Novaster 23:45, 31 August 2015 (UTC)

That's an adorable menu up there. How familiar are you with APNG? I remember you downloaded the stuff in the style guide. I'm thinking it might be super sexy to update File:The Artifact.png. It's such a gorgeous object. It deserves to show itself in full. Its a chubby menu haha. And i have not tried APNG yet, but i already created a char from 0 so i can go to mission that normally u cant repeat as the first time so i can take screenshots. The artifact appears in 2-1 Ancient Generator right? I dont remember the map and have not see the specific image it is now (the "zoomed" artifact with details) but i can try :)! Oh, I can do the APNG that way. Was wondering if you could possibly use the same method you did for the modules. The artifact image that's currently on display certainly isn't a screenshot image, and looks like a Spiral Spy thing to me, but the admins haven't deleted it (which doesn't mean it's okay, but it's more about showing the game in its full artistic glory), soooooooooo just thought we might improve it. That looks like a good start! There are a few programs out there we can use. What I use isn't freeware, and it's ancient (like pre-Corel-eating-Jasc ancient and I've used it for most of my conscious life), and I can't exactly encourage pirating, so I haven't yet made a guide for my methods since other free methods yield the same results. It's like asking a person to use a specific brand of more expensive colored pencil and editors should never have to spend money on the wiki's work. I'm guessing the issue is in the cropping step, as it looks to be the same dimensions as the tooltip. Since this entity isn't equipped, and quite large (as large as a knight!) it would need a different cropping parameter. For this step I open up the generated FRAPS.avi file into a program (Jasc Animation Shop v3.04) that lets me snatch a frame or a group of frames out of the entire sequence after "filming" the entire screen and edit those frames uniformly, instead of a highly specific BATCH script others use for the tooltips. It's a chunky but very nice program and I've not found anything that does everything it does in one package. But yeah not freeware. What I would do is copy the batch file, and modify anything in the copy that has "201" and "222" to match the dimensions you need for this object, then make your own alpha channel to go with it, specific to the dimensions of the artifact. If that doesn't work, search around for video editing freeware that isn't infested with viruses and that lets you crop round corners with transparencies uniformly for a group of files in sequence. --Novaster 12:57, 12 September 2015 (UTC)

Alternate name? Redirects

I'm certain that our news image redirects are not from "alternate names." They are their own entities. The act of redirecting is just proper laziness to avoid some large duplicate files. When Clotho responds to their talk page, I'm sure we can work on a project incorporating better redirects. I'll bring up the specific issue on Clotho's page. For the redirect tag itself, it should not be used this way, because they are their own entities - even if they happen to be the same, they have different names. As we are talking about new redirects, then we should keep the shortcut to general things, but create then a redirect from images and put all redirects to images (in ES wiki, i put redirects to prize box's icons) there. To me, it works with the actual redirects (till now) in the case of images but i did think in a new redirect when learning that you can redirects files to images without a problem. For a not-soon-to-be-made (maybe-probably-never-happen) if i have time and everything seems pretty. It would be nice to have a "History" page. I havent read complety the history (from mission) but would be nice. With the Dialogues u made seems like a good choice. As u said with the mission page "like a book" i think in that but in the history timeline or something like that. Ofcourse that is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too far away haha but after the edits u made seems like it wouldnt be so bad cuz adding dialogues would be easily :P and artific now have their own templates --Hikaru 00:00, 9 September 2015 (UTC)

I like to use Release/all and maintain the News page, but there's lots of things they don't make patch notes about. Unless you mean like, lore history, of almire and whatnot. I'm not sure how to go about the format of echo stone showhides.

I dont see anything that will affect the wiki, actually mimicking the game interface is something that makes them nice :). But sadly i dont know how much echo stone mimic the game cuz i have never been in Shadow Lair u//u! But it looks good on a screen from tablet/cellphone/etc and from a normal computer, even with 1024x768 resolutions, it fit xD. Well i saw the page in my phone (The screen is not huge but neither is small) and in my computer i have 1920x1080 resolution but i resizer the window to test it and still is enough space :P! Merp, opinion on this? In short, it doesn't make sense to have it for certain things and not others, and it interrupts the flow of a page in an unneeded manner. It is a good idea actually. I just leave my opinion :). Hope this could be made so users understand that, even if we know its a mistake, they dont get mad for the change. For later, more than a tutorial, we can add an "SpiralKnight:" page for the user page (with the policy is approved). To be honest, being new here, couldnt find the page where it help you do a user page, it took me a while to find it, maybe because "tutorial" wouldnt be a good name for me, but something like a "SpiralKnight:" page WITH the tutorial inside, we can add the categories that have the icons usefull for the pages. Woopie. I think a revision of the style guide would be fun, but it would need its own forum node, and I can start that after making a decent base for people to work from. I might have to make this a priority over other projects, because I will likely be far too busy with icky real life to help the wiki as much as people are used to.
