:That looks like a good start! There are a few programs out there we can use. What I use isn't freeware, and it's ancient (like pre-Corel-eating-Jasc ancient and I've used it for most of my conscious life), and I can't exactly encourage pirating, so I haven't yet made a guide for my methods since other free methods yield the same results. It's like asking a person to use a specific brand of more expensive colored pencil and editors should never have to spend money on the wiki's work. I'm guessing the issue is in the cropping step, as it looks to be the same dimensions as the tooltip. Since this entity isn't equipped, and quite large (as large as a knight!) it would need a different cropping parameter. For this step I open up the generated FRAPS.avi file into a program (Jasc Animation Shop v3.04) that lets me snatch a frame or a group of frames out of the entire sequence after "filming" the entire screen and edit those frames uniformly, instead of a highly specific BATCH script others use for the tooltips. It's a chunky but very nice program and I've not found anything that does everything it does in one package. But yeah not freeware. What I would do is copy the batch file, and modify anything in the copy that has "201" and "222" to match the dimensions you need for this object, then make your own alpha channel to go with it, specific to the dimensions of the artifact. If that doesn't work, search around for video editing freeware that isn't infested with viruses and that lets you crop round corners with transparencies uniformly for a group of files in sequence. --[[User:Novaster|Novaster]] 12:57, 12 September 2015 (UTC)

::Hey~ I was busy and tired this few days, sorry i didnt answer. Here in my country it is really hard and freaking expensive to get some program, freeware its my only choice haha (thx fraps for make a free version) but i would have to see then, i follow the tutorial of thepc and notice he did it only for the tooltip after my result xD (keep lmao thinking about it xD) i will have to see more about it. But first i will do things her ein the wiki more than APNG before i find out more haha. Thx ^^ and sorry for the late reply --[[User:HikaruFer|Hikaru]] 22:05, 15 September 2015 (UTC)

== Alternate name? Redirects==
 +
I'm certain that our news image redirects are not from "alternate names." They are their own entities. The act of redirecting is just proper laziness to avoid some large duplicate files. When Clotho responds to their talk page, I'm sure we can work on a project incorporating better redirects. It's best to not misuse redirect tags, as they're already confusing as is. --[[User:Novaster|Novaster]] 23:29, 25 November 2015 (UTC)
 +
:Alternate name was the best i could think of xD I mean, if the News is "96" but the "173" is the same, it would fit that an "alternate name" for the 173's news is "96" right xD? I dont like to add redirect without putting them in a cat :( --[[User:HikaruFer|Hikaru]] 23:33, 25 November 2015 (UTC)
 +
::I'll bring up the specific issue on Clotho's page. For the redirect tag itself, it should not be used this way, because they are their own entities - even if they happen to be the same, they have different names. Just like the icon for "regal bolted vee" and "regal headband" are the same visual but different names. --[[User:Novaster|Novaster]] 23:36, 25 November 2015 (UTC)
 +
::I've brought it up. Just leave 'em alone for now, you do great work, and this is more work and is sadness because it's work to be re-done. The worst kind of work! --[[User:Novaster|Novaster]] 23:39, 25 November 2015 (UTC)
 +
:::As we are talking about new redirects, then we should keep the shortcut to general things, but create then a redirect from images and put all redirects to images (in ES wiki, i put redirects to prize box's icons) there. To me, it works with the actual redirects (till now) in the case of images but i did think in a new redirect when learning that you can redirects files to images without a problem. And luckly xD there arent much images here in the EN wiki to redirect :) but they are in the ES wiki xD --[[User:HikaruFer|Hikaru]] 23:44, 25 November 2015 (UTC)
 +
::::I'm fairly sure that's basically what I requested on Clotho's page. Hopefully we'll get the green light. --[[User:Novaster|Novaster]] 23:52, 25 November 2015 (UTC)
 +
:::::AFAIK as a result of talking with Clotho about it, it's fine to make new redirect criteria VERY VERY VERY carefully and sparingly...so, I made [[Template:R to file]]. --[[User:Novaster|Novaster]] 17:39, 3 March 2016 (UTC)

==Mission Pages==

==Lore==
Your work on [[Faith in Armor]] is great! Thanks! As you can imagine, there's a lot of work to do there. Many missions don't even have their own pages V_V. It's been a long slow project over the past few months - the best thing about the mission overhaul IMO is the [[:Category:Gate Maps|Gate Maps]] (something I've wanted, and wanted to do, ever since I was a newbie) as well as the ability to just click through individual missions using the preceded/followed by section in the infobox. Like reading a book! It will get all of my focus after this acquisition project. Feel free to work on mission pages if you want, of course. 0 pressure. --[[User:Novaster|Novaster]] 00:41, 6 September 2015 (UTC)

For a not-soon-to-be-made (maybe-probably-never-happen) if i have time and everything seems pretty. It would be nice to have a "History" page. I havent read complety the history (from mission) but would be nice. With the Dialogues u made seems like a good choice. As u said with the mission page "like a book" i think in that but in the history timeline or something like that. Ofcourse that is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too far away haha but after the edits u made seems like it wouldnt be so bad cuz adding dialogues would be easily :P and artific now have their own templates --[[User:HikaruFer|Hikaru]] 00:00, 9 September 2015 (UTC)
:Hey~ Thx ^^ i did one just in case but maybe i can help adding the format to the existences one and yes! The "Previous/Next Mission" was a really cool idea instead of going again to the mission list :D that was something i like when i saw the format ^^! The mission's format is really great, tbh most of the new format were the principal motive why i start wanting to edit, to help making everything look that nice :D! I will try to help in the proyects while i can ^^ --[[User:HikaruFer|Hikaru]] 22:42, 6 September 2015 (UTC)

:I like to use [[Release/all]] and maintain the [[News]] page, but there's lots of things they don't make patch notes about. Unless you mean like, lore history, of almire and whatnot. That stuff is all over the place, and yes, an article linking to and summarizing lore/history would be sweet. --[[User:Novaster|Novaster]] 00:04, 9 September 2015 (UTC)

==Parameter Gallery==
+
::I had to google that! New Word to me haha. That is what i meant! In a... Timeline format or an informative format something like, a page to talk only about the history of the game, now i know "Lore" would capsule all what i was saying haha. Im a dork for those thing haha but ofcourse, i prefer organizing the information that is like a future-not-soon-proyect i would like to help with :)!--[[User:HikaruFer|Hikaru]] 00:13, 9 September 2015 (UTC)
Leave out the <nowiki>|gallery=</nowiki> parameter if the level is randomly generated segments, unless it has a special scenario players always run into (such as the one in An Occurrence at Owlite Keep). Looks like you're having fun! I should have some time tomorrow to do some things...then...be gone for a long time ;n; --[[User:Novaster|Novaster]] 03:36, 19 September 2015 (UTC)
+
:Ohh ok then! Random = <nowiki>'''Gallery'''</nowiki>, if isnt random then the <nowiki>|gallery=</nowiki>. I was going to ask too, host rank means when players can access to that mission (color image and start available) or when players can see the mission but cant enter (gray color with a lock image)?. Hahah yeah i decided to help the more i can with that, i have some dialogues for newest mission i need to transcribe too ^^. Dont be sad, u have a well winning vacations for all the great things u have done in this wiki :3! --[[User:HikaruFer|Hikaru]] 03:46, 19 September 2015 (UTC)
+
::Nothing uses <nowiki>'''Gallery'''</nowiki> anymore, only use <nowiki>|gallery=</nowiki>. I fixed that up a while back because it was such a consistent entry it deserved its own parameter. Only use the <nowiki>|gallery=</nowiki> parameter for randomly generated areas in the situation outlined above. Of course, we always use it for set maps. --[[User:Novaster|Novaster]] 14:42, 19 September 2015 (UTC)

==Echo Stone==
Heads up - we want to make sure the chronology of these areas is very clear. Be sure to include a notes section on mission pages, including release date. For missions which drop the player directly into a boss stratum, refer to [[Shadow of the Beast]] for examples of wording in the notes section. --[[User:Novaster|Novaster]] 00:16, 18 September 2015 (UTC)
+
I'm not sure how to go about the format of echo stone showhides.
:Oh yeah, i trough that when i saw there wasn't page for boss missions but, i dunno, i see its easier if i put the format just to be filled later so when i start my run-mule would be easy to see what is missing and what not. I put the needs update's tag to each of ones im adding without basic info--[[User:HikaruFer|Hikaru]] 00:24, 18 September 2015 (UTC)

{{:Echo Stone: Gloaming Wildwoods}}
::Sounds efficient. --[[User:Novaster|Novaster]] 00:37, 18 September 2015 (UTC)
+
There's an example. Thoughts? Trying to find a balance between mimicking the in-game interface and being usable on the wiki. Recon modules were easier, echo stones are weird. Might end up just simplifying it. --[[User:Novaster|Novaster]] 05:51, 9 September 2015 (UTC)
:::Im doing it cuz i know im going to work in them later, at least people would now that its a WiP xD. Im been slow this day but luckily i will start filling the info faster :) --[[User:HikaruFer|Hikaru]] 01:06, 18 September 2015 (UTC)
+
:I dont see anything that will affect the wiki, actually mimicking the game interface is something that makes them nice :). But sadly i dont know how much echo stone mimic the game cuz i have never been in Shadow Lair u//u! Buuuut the Recon Module mimic the in-game perfectly (taking in count what wiki can make and not) So for those that have not went to Shadow Lair is a good thing that can see at least how will it look :3 --[[User:HikaruFer|Hikaru]] 06:07, 9 September 2015 (UTC)

::Yeah it's this whole interactive thing that takes up the whole screen D: --[[User:Novaster|Novaster]] 06:08, 9 September 2015 (UTC)

:::But it looks good on a screen from tablet/cellphone/etc and from a normal computer, even with 1024x768 resolutions, it fit xD. Well i saw the page in my phone (The screen is not huge but neither is small) and in my computer i have 1920x1080 resolution but i resizer the window to test it and still is enough space :P! Maaaaybe, 800x600 will see snuggly but in phone looks good so 800x600 would be okay too --[[User:HikaruFer|Hikaru]] 06:45, 9 September 2015 (UTC)

==Area Format==
So, many missions (mostly Dangerous Prestige) have extremely complex areas one after another, but the map is set. I don't think editors would like cropping out sections of a fixed map, so I came up with a potential solution - check out [[Talk:Heart_of_Ice#Third_Floor|Heart of Ice: Amu-Sol]]. Of course, where the red text is, would be screenshots of the relevant area. Conveniently, the mini map will show the map segment the area is in, and it will always be included in the screenshot. I feel that this data is desired, because several of these pages have the data in some way, added by editors in the past. We're just organizing it. Of course, major entities such as Maulos will end up on their own pages, as part of the [http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/111580 monster overhaul]. --[[User:Novaster|Novaster]] 17:46, 19 September 2015 (UTC)

We are developing a format for areas - [http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/111949 here] if you want to feedback. --[[User:Novaster|Novaster]] 23:36, 15 September 2015 (UTC)
:Oh yeah, bosses will definitive need their own page and category. I like the format, it is easy and useful, but dunno if would look better with a show/hide (dunno maybe im loving show/hide too much haha) I really doubt i could make danger mission's gallery because i suck at those xD but who knows-- Oh and u didnt tell me about the Host rank parametre --[[User:HikaruFer|Hikaru]] 09:13, 20 September 2015 (UTC)

*Monsters don't belong in the exploration section at all, as they have their own section.

*Runthrough tips don't belong in the exploration section.

*[[Exploration]] entities as well as explaining the geography of the area belongs in this section.

Merp, opinion on [[Template talk:Eventexpired|this]]? In short, it doesn't make sense to have it for certain things and not others, and it interrupts the flow of a page in an unneeded manner. I think I've worked out a solution for our recent upsets. Looking over [http://wiki.spiralknights.com/User_talk:Clotho#Duplicate_Icon_Issue this] and providing some perspective on Clotho's talk page would help push the policy into review stage, to be rejected/modified/accepted. --[[User:Novaster|Novaster]] 20:27, 23 October 2015 (UTC)

:It is a good idea actually. I just leave my opinion :). Hope this could be made so users understand that, even if we know its a mistake, they dont get mad for the change. For later, more than a tutorial, we can add an "SpiralKnight:" page for the user page (with the policy is approved). To be honest, being new here, couldnt find the page where it help you do a user page, it took me a while to find it, maybe because  "tutorial" wouldnt be a good name for me, but something like a "SpiralKnight:" page WITH the tutorial inside, we can add the categories that have the icons usefull for the pages. Hope this advance :) --[[User:HikaruFer|Hikaru]] 20:51, 23 October 2015 (UTC)

"This floor is composed of random AREANAME segments." or "An area similar to AREANAME"?

::It seems good to me :D! --[[User:HikaruFer|Hikaru]] 01:40, 25 October 2015 (UTC)
We can't just say "This floor is AREANAME," because missions do not have [[scenario room]]s in the random pool for level creation, so they are not truly AREANAME. We settled on the second one when we made gate maps (mostly), but I think the first one in general makes more sense. To save work, we'd stick with the second one. But it seems a little vague, and that's not good for a wiki, now that I'm looking at it later. --[[User:Novaster|Novaster]] 01:39, 7 September 2015 (UTC)

:Ohh get it now! Thx ^^ i too like details so i can understand :D i will keep it them like "An area similar to AREANAME" then ^^. Will try my best, after i work sometimes in an specific format (like main list or mission page) it seems like its better to keep somethings to last, at least for me, cuz at the end of fixing all mission page, u can think "well, the mayority of the page have X thing so i can add it like X to all" and keep the consistence that, even if its not big deal, details make everything beutiful haha. I too will go to sleep soon so have a good nite~ --[[User:HikaruFer|Hikaru]] 02:31, 7 September 2015 (UTC)

::Had a talk with another editor, we feel that the "This floor is composed of random AREANAME segments" is best. I shall make a template to use for this phrase and area linking...probably tomorrow. --[[User:Novaster|Novaster]] 03:47, 8 September 2015 (UTC)

:::Well I got inspired and did it. [[Template:Area|here's the template]] and I've fixed up all the gate maps and floor templates. Likely made a few mistakes, feel free to check (please do). Use the area template for mission pages in the floor template's exploration section, they should pretty much be copy pastes from the Gate Map, though don't mention monsters in the exploration section. --[[User:Novaster|Novaster]] 10:50, 8 September 2015 (UTC)

:::::Hurray~. I'm working on the gloaming maps atm. So many little corners! The artifact project I've started shouldn't take long to complete. I'm looking forward to cleaning up the page...hopefully it won't blow up into a huge project! haha. But I'd like for users to have easier access to this content. If it's on the NPC and mission pages as well as the commemorative artifact page, I think a lot more people will be exposed to it more often. What do you think? --[[User:Novaster|Novaster]] 23:32, 8 September 2015 (UTC)
