Morlin only shows up in the lab when the player is involved in sprite related missions. As the player progresses through rank missions, the lab's appearance changes. Morlin is not always visible in the lab as a result. He is usually standing next to rescued battle sprites in the southeastern area of the lab. After the player chooses a sprite in the 2-3 Mission: An Eternal Bond, Morlin stands next to the Sprite Food Alchemy Machine and provides information about the care of battle sprites. Eventually, after the player completes the ??? mission, Morlin is not available to talk to in the Lab if it is loaded from the Haven Garrison. He can always be seen if the player starts A Visit to the Lab. He makes a minor appearance in the 4-2 Mission: A New Threat.

Greetings, PLAYERNAME! Now that I've had sufficient time to research the battle sprites you rescued I can give you a proper evaluation of each.
Despite their well, strange appearance, we have concluded that these 'new' battle sprites are not only suitable for combat but may have even further enhanced capabilities as a result of their transformation.
I will provide you with a summary of each battle sprite. In recognition of your valor in rescuing these sprites, Spiral HQ has authorized you to bond with one. This bond will last forever and is a significant responsibility.
Please think carefully before making your decision; there is no going back once you decide.

There are three distinct battle sprites available. Each has responded to the power emanating from this world differently and each offers a unique combat experience.
These sprites include the fiery drakon, the radiant seraphynx, and the shadowy maskeraith.
- Tell me about the drakon.
- Tell me about the seraphynx.
- Tell me about the maskeraith.
- I'm not ready to choose yet.
If the player chooses Tell me about the drakon.:
The drakon is a battle sprite that embodies fiery destruction. Its skills focus on direct assault: firebolt creates an explosive projectile, flame barrier surrounds its knight with protective fireballs, and firestorm creates a massive wave of flames.
The drakon is best suited for fearless knights who prefer frontline, destructive combat.
- The drakon sounds like the battle sprite for me!
- Tell me about the other battle sprites.
If the player chooses The drakon sounds like the battle sprite for me!:
So, you have chosen the fiery drakon, battle sprite of those who prefer frontline, destructive combat?
Once you choose there is no going back!
- Yes, I choose the drakon.
(The player will receive a level 1 sprite and be unable to choose another sprite via this mission)
- I'm not sure, tell me again about the battle sprites. (returns to previous dialogue)
If the player chooses Tell me about the seraphynx.:
The seraphynx is a battle sprite that embodies protection and restoration. Its skills focus on supporting knights in combat: ray of light creates a steady beam of holy light, heart attack increases the chance of hearts dropping from monsters, and angelic aura creates a light shield that protects its knight and party members within.
The seraphynx is best suited for knights who wish to protect their party and provide them aid.
- The seraphynx sounds like the battle sprite for me!
- Tell me about the other battle sprites. (returns to previous dialogue)
If the player chooses The seraphynx sounds like the battle sprite for me!:
So, you have chosen the radiant seraphynx, battle sprite of those who wish to protect their party and provide them aid?
Once you choose there is no going back!
- Yes, I choose the seraphynx.
(The player will receive a level 1 sprite and be unable to choose another sprite via this mission)
- I'm not sure, tell me again about the battle sprites. (returns to previous dialogue)
If the player chooses Tell me about the maskeraith.:
The maskeraith is a battle sprite that embodies deception and debilitation. Its skills focus on subterfuge: caustic quills fire poisonous quills that explode when followed with an attack, shadow cloak allows a knight to become invisible to monsters, and hexinig haze allows the knight to inflict monsters with a timed damage blast.
The maskeraith is best suited for knights who wish to lurk in the shadows and strike the enemy with sneak attacks.
- The maskeraith sounds like the battle sprite for me!
- Tell me about the other battle sprites.
If the player chooses The maskeraith sounds like the battle sprite for me!:
So, you have chosen the shadowy maskeraith, battle sprite of those who wish to lurk in the shadows and strike the enemy with sneak attacks?
Once you choose there is no going back!
- Yes, I choose the maskeraith.
(The player will receive a level 1 sprite and be unable to choose another sprite via this mission)
- I'm not sure, tell me again about the battle sprites. (returns to previous dialogue)
If the player chooses I'm not ready to choose yet:
That's fine, just talk to me again when you are ready to choose.
If the player chooses a sprite:
Congratulations, PLAYERNAME! You have become bonded with your battle sprite! It will no doubt be an invaluable companion to you in your missions ahead.
If you have any further questions about raising your new battle sprite, be sure to speak to me or Biscotti here in the Lab.
- Thank you, Morlin. I will do my best to raise this sprite well.
If spoken to again, Morlin provides extensive information about battle sprites. See
Morlin Dialogue/Laboratory. This large end part of the
An Eternal Bond dialogue remains available until the player completes the
??? mission.
