Jelly cubes are relatively harmless early on, but acquire thorns in Tier 2 and lower which they can use to skewer you with piercing damage tackles and ranged thorn attacks. They also possess good resistance to piercing damage.

Jelly cubes are seemingly harmless, gelatinous and bouncy cubes that appears from the start, in the Crash Site. In Tier 1, they are as harmless as their looks would suggest, but gains an often-missed Thorn Attack in Tier 2 and onward, making it far more dangerous. This family of monsters is also home to 2 of the game's bosses, the Royal Jelly (often called the Jelly King), and the Ice Queen.

==Strategy==

==Strategy==
Jellies have a very limited attack range, but they can jump a short distance before attacking. Any form of knock back is usually enough to nullify any attacking jelly. However, be aware that jellies have a relatively fast pace of attacking: after they tackle a player, they can attack that player again within a very short period of time.
+
*Part of the reason why Jellies are such a challenge in later tiers is down to the fact that they are one of the few monsters in the game to never "face" who they are aggressing against, as they are always facing towards the screen. Because of this, a Jellies' movements are often difficult to predict regarding '''''who''''' the Jelly is aggressing against, especially when they are about to use their standard tackle attack or when surrounded by them while in a Team.
 +
** Before a Jelly uses its tackle attack, it will track your Knights movements before lunging forward. The easiest way to avoid this is to shield, hit it with any form of knock back (the third strike on any 3-strike sword, heavy swords, charge attacks or shield-bumps) or to simply keep strafing away from it.
 +
** However when dealing with a large group of Jellies this may be a little more difficult - so it may be a good idea to keep them walking in a straight line, or in a circle around a large area. The [[Brandish]] swordline's charge attacks are particularly effective against a large group, as the sword swing and explosions will push them back and deal multiple hits of damage.

*Royal Minis and Jelly Green Minis can be a true nightmare if you allow them to build up their number. A mini jelly swarm can block your movement, your attacks, as well as breaking your shield within seconds.
+
*In T2 and T3, Jellies gain the ability to use a Thorn attack under a Knight's feet (which complements the thorns they gain in these levels), which are often slightly difficult to spot. However, this thorn attack leaves the Jelly open to close-range attacks.

*It should be noted that Royal Minis are weak against elemental damage as well as shadow damage.
+
*Royal Minis and Jelly Green Minis can be a true nightmare if you allow them to build up their numbers. A mini jelly swarm can individually deal a relatively large amount of damage for their size, in addition to being able to block your movement, your attacks, charge attacks, as well as easily breaking your shield if all attack at once. Thankfully, due to their incredibly low amount of health, a good sword will make easy work of them.

+
*Its a good idea that when attacking numerous jellies at once, back out of the group and allow them to synchronize their attacks or you'll find yourself getting attacked every second.
+

+
* Special caution must be taken with attacking jellies from tier 2 onwards since their attack speed increases and they become far less easily flinched by attacks, with their attacks potentially launching them far enough to hit a knight after being hit by a {sealed sword}.

Jelly Cubes are the first monsters encountered in the tutorial levels and hence in the entire game.
 +

 +
The Jelly Green Giant alludes to the [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jolly_Green_Giant Jolly Green Giant] vegetable marketing mascot. In general, jelly cubes bear much similarity to the Gelatinous Cubes found in the [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dungeons_and_Dragons Dungeons and Dragons] Monster Manual.
 +

 +
Blast Cubes originally had a powerful explosive detonation with a powerful knockback upon being defeated. This was later stealth patched, completely removing this function.

This family of monsters is also home to 2 of the game's bosses, the Royal Jelly (often called the Jelly King), and the Ice Queen.

Royal Mini

Abilities
  • Tackle Attack normal icon.png
Location Drops
  • None
Description

These small purple cubes populate the Royal Jelly Palace in large numbers. These jellies are individually weak, so they usually come in large numbers or come with other regular-sized Jellies. Their hitboxes are very small, so gunners will have a hard time shooting them down.

  • Tackle Attack normal icon.png
Location
  • Scarlet Fortress: Grim Gallery
  • This monster has a low chance to appear in place of any Stone Block. (Includes Lockdown.)
Drops
Description

Unlike its jelly relatives, the Rock Jelly Cube has come prepared. With a stone block atop its even larger grey body, it has a greater force behind it when it tackles. While among stone blocks this Jelly can easily disguise itself, so beware when clearing blocked paths!

This sneaky Slime pretends to be a purple treasure box to ambush unsuspecting knights. Beware when breaking treasure boxes!

Strategy

  • Part of the reason why Jellies are such a challenge in later tiers is down to the fact that they are one of the few monsters in the game to never "face" who they are aggressing against, as they are always facing towards the screen. Because of this, a Jellies' movements are often difficult to predict regarding who the Jelly is aggressing against, especially when they are about to use their standard tackle attack or when surrounded by them while in a Team.
    • Before a Jelly uses its tackle attack, it will track your Knights movements before lunging forward. The easiest way to avoid this is to shield, hit it with any form of knock back (the third strike on any 3-strike sword, heavy swords, charge attacks or shield-bumps) or to simply keep strafing away from it.
    • However when dealing with a large group of Jellies this may be a little more difficult - so it may be a good idea to keep them walking in a straight line, or in a circle around a large area. The Brandish swordline's charge attacks are particularly effective against a large group, as the sword swing and explosions will push them back and deal multiple hits of damage.
  • In T2 and T3, Jellies gain the ability to use a Thorn attack under a Knight's feet (which complements the thorns they gain in these levels), which are often slightly difficult to spot. However, this thorn attack leaves the Jelly open to close-range attacks.
  • Royal Minis and Jelly Green Minis can be a true nightmare if you allow them to build up their numbers.

Location

This monster has a low chance to appear in place of any normal size Jelly Cube, including a Rock Jelly Cube that would've spawned from a block.

Any of the following, except those that are promotion-exclusive:

Description

The Impostocube is a dressed up variation of the Jelly Cube. It rarely drops related accessories when defeated. The Impostocube used to always drop a gold crown (coin), but this seems to no longer be the case.

Notes

Rock Jelly Cube in Lockdown match

As a Rock Jelly Cube can spawn in the place of any stone block, there is a chance of finding one during any Lockdown match that includes stone blocks.

Nick's avatar on the forums, as shown by his statue in the Haven Town Square garden, is an Impostocube.

Jelly Cubes are the first monsters encountered in the tutorial levels and hence in the entire game.

The Jelly Green Giant alludes to the Jolly Green Giant vegetable marketing mascot. In general, jelly cubes bear much similarity to the Gelatinous Cubes found in the Dungeons and Dragons Monster Manual.

Blast Cubes originally had a powerful explosive detonation with a powerful knockback upon being defeated. This was later stealth patched, completely removing this function.
