The Com Unit is an accessory.

Description

A ticket for an accessory that can be attached to the side of select helmets. Accessory tickets can be redeemed at the Accessorizor in the Haven Bazaar. — Tooltip

Notes

The Com Unit is grouped with other items. Available in standard Color Patterns, they are options for accessorizing when creating a new knight:

For a short time, the Citrine Com Unit was colored in an odd manner, involving colors from the Opal pattern. This was promptly fixed.^[1]

The NPC Kora wears a com unit. So do many miscellaneous NPCs around the clockworks and Haven.
