The Crash Site is an area of the surface.
Notes
Waking in a New World is the only level of the Crash Site. After knight creation, the player must venture away from their crash pod. Various tips and obstacles teach the player the basics of gameplay, including controls and methods of exploration.
This part of the game is not multiplayer and players will not be put in parties of more than 1.
If health reaches 0 in this level, the knight will be revived after a few seconds.
If this is the first time Spiral Knights has been run on the player's computer, the rest of the game will download after the completion of this level. The level is considered "complete" when the player enters the Rescue Camp.
History
- release 2012-05-09: The Crash Site is shorter. The number of Jelly Cubes, Chromalisk Whelps, Treasure Boxes, and Explosive Blocks has been reduced.
- release 2013-12-11: A group of Retrodes no longer appear during the Ironwood Sentinel fight.

Description: This level is basically a tutorial. Rhendon will contact the player after both crashed in Cradle. The main objective in this zone is to rejoin with Rhendon and arrive at the Rescue Camp. There are a few Jelly Cubes and Chromalisk Whelps to fight before to meet Rhendon, after the meeting with him, there are three Veteran Spiral Knights waiting a few metres of Rhendon. In that area the player will fight against a Mini Boss called Ironwood Sentinel along with a few Gun Puppies, the veteran knights will aid in the fight. After the battle go straight to the Rescue Camp. Don't forget to get the Heat and the Crowns during the run.

...come in, PLAYERNAME, are you there? This is Recon Knight Rhendon!

You just hit the surface of Cradle. My escape pod crashed just north of your position. We should meet up and find the nearest rally point. Be careful and ready your sword, there are hostile creatures everywhere!

- Roger that, Rhendon. I'm heading your way!
(When you meet up)

PLAYERNAME! Am I glad to see you! This place is so alien, I'm happy to see a familiar face and not another hostile.

- Glad to see you in one piece as well, Rhendon. Where are the other survivors?

I've established a comlink with Knights that have formed a Rescue Camp up ahead. If you head north, you should eventually reach it. I'm going to stay here for now and locate any other Knights that have crashed in the area. I'll meet you at the Rescue Camp before sunset. And should you encounter anything really dangerous, press <Controls> to use your shield!

- I'll scout ahead then! Be careful, Rhendon. (ends dialogue)
Tips
Monsters Ahead! Aim at enemies with your mouse and attack with < Controls>.

Healing If you are hurt, use Hearts to heal yourself!
|
Switching Weapons Use < Controls> to cycle your equipped weapon.
|
Danger: Explosives! Switch to your handgun using < Controls>.
|
Shield Press and hold < Controls> to block attacks.

Ironwood Sentinel Fight
|
Hail, knight. You must be PLAYERNAME, Rhendon radioed us and said you were on your way. Come with us, the Rescue Camp is just ahead.
