These lists are generally by Date of Release when in default order. Items released at the same time are alphabetized. Sorting the table puts higher-intensity armor at the top, alphabetically if tied. Use the show/hide panel in the "name" column to take a closer look at the statistics of an item. For more information such as acquisition, see individual pages.
+

+
Consider this table a factual user-made guide - the raw stuff. What items have which kind of combat statistics, penalites, and abilities?
+

+
To have some control of "duality" searches - decide what you want to look for. Say, a shadow armor with fire resistance. Sort either the fire or shadow column first. then sort the fire or shadow column second, whichever you didn't do first. The table does its best to cluster these, with some hiccups for some browsers - but you should be able to hone in on what you're after. For multiple duality searches, it's best to reset the table per duality search. To reset the list, refresh your browser. This method does not work well in the ability columns, just defense and status resistance.
+

+
If you're not entirely sure what's out there to begin with, then click icons in the yellow row of the table to learn more about abilities, defenses, and status types.
+

+
Look through the ability columns. The organization of these is not 100% consistent. For example, if MSI is the only ability of an item, it will be in the first column, but many items have more than one ability, so the same kind of ability might be in column one for a given item, but in the second or even the third column for a different item. In general, editors try to keep things consistent - an item is a gunner item first, and an undead vanquisher second (see Deadshot for example), and so on.
+

+
Some of the icons in these lists are icons of [[Perk|Battle Sprite Perks]]. Items do not have "perks" (abilities, unique variants, trinkets, and perks can be very similar to each other). This table simply has the icons because these icons are highly related to the content and they help facilitate understanding. Other icons are made specifically for these tables and have no direct presence in the game itself - they are "[[:Category:Wiki images|Wiki Images]]" used on the wiki made by users to help players understand the game.

'''Armor''' is one of the types of items in the game that a player can equip in order to have some sort of combat effect in the field. The vast majority of armor items in the game grant benefits, with many having penalties and weaknesses to balance their benefits.
+

The player must pick and choose which gear to equip for certain areas. Some items are better than others in some places, and far worse than other items in other places. There is no single "best" armor in the game due to the variety of scenarios the player may encounter in the clockworks. A few things to understand about armor:

The player can obtain armor in a variety of ways, including crafting, trading with other players, and purchase from NPC vendors.

=== Middle color ===
+
Here I tried to use a "middle color" for the same appearance fields. I took the color from the border of the table, so I can say the color is "official". Maybe there are other middle colors used elsewhere, I don't know right now. There's a small problem that the text is hard to read, so brighter color could be useful. Using white or the "official light blue" for text doesn't seem to be a good solution because white draws more attention than I'd like and the light blue looks simply a bit weird (probably because it's used everywhere as background, not foreground color). Examples of these two colors are in the last two "same appearance" rows. (Maybe they don't look that bad in the end...)

The player can [[heat]] (a.k.a level up) equipped armor by wearing it in the clockworks and getting onto an elevator, so long as heat was picked up. Forging the armor increases its level. Leveling can increase [[Health|Health Pips]]. Heating is required for most items to be crafted into the next star level. Not all items can be upgraded all the way to 5-star - see the alchemy path information on individual pages.

If the player desires a more versatile armor, and/or doesn't wish to expand their arsenal, they can take the armor to [[Punch]] and grant it additional defenses, for a price, via [[Unique Variant]]s. Rarely, an armor can gain a UV (1-3) when it is crafted. UVs obtained are random unless locked in at Punch.

Abilities and Penalties are separate from status properties. For example, the Chaos Cloak certainly has status "penalties," but its ''abilities'' are universal CTR and DMG Med. Compare to the Armor of the Fallen, which has a Fiend penalty in junction with its universal ASI Low boost. Abilities are generally unrelated to status when it comes to defensive gear.

Into a single, more easily updated "[[Monster]]" page with the same information about weaknesses and tendencies and so on in the top part of the page, and all the organization is in this sortable list (this list is of course incomplete and a WiP, just has a few examples in it to test sortability). This page could easily have a <nowiki>{{main|List of monsters}}</nowiki> instead of being one large page. We could also divide the list by monster family (similar to how the monster page currently is) instead of one giant list, though this reduces sortability.

Many monsters can inflict stun in addition to other status ailments. The status column indicates a monster [[stratum|themed]] with that status. A monster without a status in this list may or may not be able to inflict stun or some other status. For example, curse is a Tier 3 status only and there aren't any "curse" stratum themes.

Lower tier monsters as well as monsters in [[Danger Room]]s seem to have a higher chance of dropping nothing.

"Same appearance"

Middle color

Monster Project

As part of the Monster Overhaul Project:

Propose a merging of:

Into a single, more easily updated "Monster" page with the same information about weaknesses and tendencies and so on in the top part of the page, and all the organization is in this sortable list (this list is of course incomplete and a WiP, just has a few examples in it to test sortability). This page could easily have a {{main|List of monsters}} instead of being one large page. We could also divide the list by monster family (similar to how the monster page currently is) instead of one giant list, though this reduces sortability.

Feedback: don't touch monster page as much. We should still mention other methods of organization, either in a better reworded top or in See Also.

Proposal: Reclassify Wheel Launcher and Swarm Source as exploration entities instead of monsters.

List

The subsection division of this list is roughly based on the loot tables of defeated monsters.

If a field is empty, then the monster does not have an encountered variant associated with that aspect.

Certain monsters may have the same appearance for all tiers, but they probably have more attacks with intensified effects in higher tiers. See individual pages for details.

Many monsters can inflict stun in addition to other status ailments. The status column indicates a monster themed with that status. A monster without a status in this list may or may not be able to inflict stun or some other status. For example, curse is a Tier 3 status only and there aren't any "curse" stratum themes.

General

These monsters can almost always be found in an appropriate area. Some are randomly spawned, while others have set spawn points. Unless they are generated by a respawn pad, they have a chance to drop crowns, heat, hearts, a pickup, a vitapod, and/or materials when defeated. Lower tier monsters as well as monsters in Danger Rooms seem to have a higher chance of dropping nothing.
