"The Compounds feature the remains of some sort of unknown facility, where more intelligent monsters await, harvesting resources or perhaps attempting to power up the derelict machinery. However, just outside the confines of the facilities, hordes of mini monsters await in the brush, waiting to strike."

Compounds contain the widest array of monsters found anywhere in the Clockworks. Compounds will always contain a multitude of Constructs, and a set species of mini: Ravenous Warrens will contain Dust Bunnies, Chittering Burrows has Scarabs, and Creeping Colony hosts Glop Drops. Accompanying these minis will often be monsters from the same family. On top of this, monsters from the family displayed as the color of the level's icon will be scattered about the level. Normal-Type weapons and/or a balanced loadout, and crowd control weapons such as Bombs are recommended.

Layout

A floating island much like the Wolver Den, consisting of two combined monster families and only appearing in Tier 2 and 3 of the Clockworks. These depths have small factories occupied by Construct monsters, Gremlins, Shankles, Wisps and Mini Monsters especially. On the other hand, Jellies and Wolvers can be found in the 'grassland' of the depth.

Trivia

  • Curse (and Sleep) are the only status not seen in Compounds.
  • A Rare Scenario Room will spawn a Ghostmane Stalker.
  • Deactivated Mecha Knights can sometimes be found in Scenario Rooms, offering a little help if it is necessary for 5 energy.
  • Every single monster family can spawn in a single Compound if it is a Ravenous Warrens or Creeping Colony, with a Fiend theme. The beast/slime minis will spawn, as well as their accompanying pierce-damaging family. Gremlins and Constructs almost always spawn in Compounds by default. On top of this, fiends will spawn, and in some places where a turret is designated to spawn, a Howlitzer will instead since the Fiend family has no turrets.
