My Knight's Story:

Novaster crash-landed on Cradle 06 April 2012, and was immediately attacked by creep cakes. Desiring to find destiny on Cradle, Novaster kept playing, exploring, crafting, and making new, lasting friends.

One day, Novaster was exploring a lichen lair at the mouth of a sewer stash. There, a virulisk suit popped out of a box. Novaster loved the tail, the claws...and wanted to know what to make of this glorious find. Looking through owlite records (not really, just this wiki), Novaster discovered the Arcane Salamander set, and endeavored to wear it. It became Novaster's second 5* set, after vog cub.

Novaster thought that all the lizard outfits were awesome, especially with the variety that personal colors added. So Novaster set out to make a dragon guild, in order for dragon enthusiasts to gather together. But, Novaster thought, for the guild to last, we must let in the kind, the civil, and the fun-loving.

While the guild was stabilizing, Novaster thought to expand skill sets and defenses...

How I Raised My Drakon:

I chose the drakon. I love dragons. So. Much. Reached level 100: 02 August 2013. What I chose as ultimates: concussive firebolt, backfire barrier, and explosive firestorm. This gives a nose horn, neck spikes, and wings, respectively.

You get ultimates for your skills at 90, 95, and 100, for 1, 2, and 3. Each skill/move or whatever you want to call it has TWO ultimate forms that you PICK from, and can change with a Reset Star. You qualify for an ultimate skill if the skill has maxed out skill points (yes, you eventually get enough skill points for everything), and on the level-up using an Ultimate Evo Catalyst, which you need to level up to 90, 95, and 100.

Vanguards: you already have catalysts you need, and one ult catalyst. You need 3 ultimate catalysts total. So buy two from the supply depot. Your pet will change forms at 15 and 50. The ultimates add things to the 50 form. Like accessories really. Your pet will change material preference at (assuming I remember correctly) 15, 30, 50, and 75. ( 1* till 14, 2* till 30, 3* till 49, 4* till 75, and 5* until 100). This is rough, since for some changes in preference a catalyst is used - at 15 and 30 - so material isn't needed for that. But for the other preference changes they are - so you'll probably mess up your math. Crafting in sets of 10 doesn't hurt - you can always trade to someone that needs it.

How I fed my Battle Sprite:

Fed it 5* materials, raw, like flame souls and reaper ribs, until I reached 50 - using 4* peppers or 3* torchstones to top it off whenever possible. After reaching 50, I fed it the preferred material for general feeding - these are orbs and stars. You don't need to spam craft motes, dust, or stones for yourself.

Doing jelly king elite is a great way to get your pet hungry efficiently. Arcades and non-boss missions are good too, since they have arsenal stations to feed at, whereas boss missions do not - so you have to leave to feed if you're doing FSC and want to be efficient with heating/forging something else.

Yes, battle sprites take heat, but it's a very small amount. It contributes to their appetite far more, and when fed, the heat-to-level bar goes up. More efficiently with higher star items, or preferred items. Don't feed preferred items for general feeding - only to level up - until after 50. No, the rarity of the item (drop tables) does not factor into how much the pet is fed - so don't go feeding it shadow lair materials, or joke about feeding it a book of dark rituals.

I did not track how many orbs and stars I used. But it is a large number, ~75 or more for each. Probably a lot more than that. Like I said, craft in sets of 10. Can't go wrong with that. Find someone that chose a different sprite than you, and establish a 1:1 trade for the materials you both need. Very few people have enough minerals to take care of themselves. Find older players that didn't arcade-dump their minerals. I'm reserving my minerals for my friends and guildies at discount/1:1 trades, so I probably won't be selling to strangers (not the NPCs lol) much - unless my prices are met: 1500 for 1*, 3000 for 2*, 4000 for 3*, 5000 for 4*, and the market is in flux for 5* atm. I have been selling stars at 10k each. No, I will not negotiate these prices, and NO, I WILL NOT GIVE THEM FOR FREE TO BEGGARS. GO AWAY. Respect my months of carrying heavy minerals on my poor back all around the clockworks >:(.

Perks: you get them as you level. Pick one to represent at a time. No, they do not affect the entire squad, just you. Think of it as a permanent trinket slot. Skill points: get them as you level. You eventually get enough to max out all your skills. Feel free to conserve them for a specific skill, even though you get them all eventually. Harness: get at the lab. Don't buy one your pet can't use. You can buy the next level as soon as you buy the previous level. These change a Battle Sprite's attack type.

Be patient. Love your battle sprite. I was on vacation when I leveled my lovely drakon, named Seeker, so I had tons of time to do it. Hence, my sprite is finished early - due to lots of time right after they were introduced, as well as being a shiny-hoarding person that rarely NPC trashed materials or arcade dumped minerals.

Something fun to do: wear mercurial jelly or demo, and have your sprite's perk be Swift Steps II. It is very fun >:3.

Hobbies:

When not working on a specific goal, Novaster focuses on helping with funding the furnishing and upkeep of the <Of Draco Dusk> guild hall, recruits for the guild, and likes to talk about game mechanics.

Pet Peeves:

Begging, asking for "help" when you really just want to be carried/are begging, being rude, accusing someone of something they didn't do ("scamming" is a major one that plagues many good, decent merchants in this game, sadly), asking the same questions over and over, and lastly, improper grammar.

Also why does the prestige "Arms Appropriation" exist. Just noe. NOEEEEEE. WHY OOO WHY.

I love playing spiral knights! I hang out in my Guild Hall but often visit the Haven Town Square when I'm not bashing beasties. I use the following frame (dimensional) parameters to consistently crop things for the wiki:

Remember to keep it floating, fellow image croppers~!

REMOVE THE FRAME for most wiki images, as the frame isn't part of the game. It just keeps dimensions consistent.

These images amuse and appear useful to me, but don't really have a formal/official place on the wiki as of yet.

Many players make earmuffs or headphones using the headband and helm guards.
The headband can make the Com Unit look like a more complex piece of equipment.
This looks a bit like a Shogun Helmet, or a Storm Warrior Helm.
If a helmet doens't have eyes, the gameface might be able to give that helm some personality.

Priority:

Move pages such as "how to make eyes visuals" on the Talk:Eyes pages etc. to Spiralknights (or help?) space (similar to Spiralknights:Redirect).

Fix the list on the Ticket page to have better icon positioning and linking.

Fix the format of various location pages, after we reconsider "Garrison" vs. "Haven Garrison" etc.

Reword Shadow Lair page to make sense with release 2013-10-16

Oh my jegus each HoH mission has its own special little gate map names...

Fix vendor lists so they follow the other sortable list template formats (yellow header, blue borders, blue background), and so they're not as repetitive - this would involve a flexible column for items that can be purchased by more than one type of currency (Randolph is such an example, and the Dark Harvest Prize Box for different kinds of candy is as well). There are many wayward vendor list templates out there, it's time to fuse their functions so we don't have all these different templates with white or blue backrounds etc. floating around. Columns should include: Name, Type (costume, usable, etc. - arsenal terminology), flexible Cost column, Notes about circumstance of acquisition such as rank limit in HoH (and for historical points/price changes if relevant).

Improve wording of costume pages regarding redundant/repeated DoR data in notes sections. This data is usually in the sortable table below, unless the item is "unique." For unique items, specify date, as with Power Pistons.

Fix Prismatic Aspect information on individual costume/equipment pages, using {{Prismatic Aspect}}

Adjust logic for costume taxonomy to be in line with recent merger format (discussed here)

Simplify the note rows by reducing to a simple "tags" list, so CTRL+F still works. Emphasize Unique. Adjust the list usage guides accordingly.

Split the costume list into helmet and armor sections. Set information is always on individual pages. Adjust template to not include the slot column accordingly. Remove use of icons, emphasizing the use of the word "unique" FIRST in note row tags.

Split the accessory list into slot subsections. Adjust template to not include the slot column accordingly.

Finish the acquisition template (User:HexZyle/Template:RecipeLocation and rename to ItemType/Acquisition), and implement them.

To do:

Work on List of Alchemy Stations and check through each individual alchemy machine page for consistencies.

Laboratory:

Clean up NPC list

Use proper "release" linking

Add a list/section regarding how each relevant rank mission influences the lab ("Pakrat joins after the player completes blahblah," etc)

Organize all of this so the page doesn't seem like such a mess/repeated - have to look into "area" pages with Denizen lists again, see if they can be organized better. Stuff below large lists is bad for navigational purposes. Perhaps the denizen list should simply be compressed into simple bullets+names+minor role note, as much of this this information fluff that will eventually be entirely covered on individual NPC pages?

Hubert deserves a page, if only to make miscellaneous slimes jelly. As in envious.

Infobox project: Overhaul mission pages, create nonexistent mission pages, include stuff from exploration and map projects

add soundtrack info to various exploration/geography infoboxes.

Fix categories to make sense. Areas (worlds might not be appropriate? Category was deleted), Levels, actual Subpages, all under the loose Geography.

Discuss "geographical phenomenon" vs. "area" vs "world" (talk about how it was deleted in the past) on forums.

Overhaul monsters (forum discussion)

Turn Visual Encyclopedia/creature into a sortable "list gallery," showing all the information it currently has in a user-oriented sortable format. Include name, image, class, tier, status, and possibly a narrow notes/keyword column. Currently have a demo in the Sandbox.

Fix the boss page into a sortable list, each boss is a complex entity with many aspects, therefore each needs their own page, not a tiny section of a list page.

Improve format and wording for The Core, Clockwork Terminal, Hall of Heroes, and Rescue Camp pages. Them maps.

Make image tags consistent.

Make an "Accessory/End" template that has "about the list" so the information is at the bottom, certain browsers do not like the showhide tab in relation to redirects and anchors, and implement.

Somehow merge Danger Mission into List of prestige missions while still being useful and clear.

Add sortable acc slot columns to reduce confusion regarding built-in accessories or other items. Sometimes they take up the slot, sometimes they don't! "Why" doesn't matter, only whether or not they do.

Fix template naming convention for costume recolors to match accessory - not a priority cause redirect is working, but the internal editor tips should be accurate.

Make token page into list format

Make a page: "Crash Pod" (or as Rhendon calls them, escape pods) disambiguation. Include furniture pod, danger lobby pods, bechamel's pod, all da pods.

Fix up recipe template system. Be sure to include crafting location, using the alchemy machine icons.

Make a page: "Alchemy Path" that describes the crafting tendencies and whatnot (merge into category page?)

Start listing SD (and AH) sale prices for items where relevant. Use a showhide with bullets by year so prices can easily be compared and referred to without taking up space/distracting from the other info. A master list of all (known) items that have been in sales, with this data, on the Supply Depot Sale page is desired and has been requested by users, and it would be useful.

Fix format regarding DoR in Battle Sprite lists to be consistent with other DoRSource-type information tables.

Scrapped (Decided not to do)

Tweak acc lists on individual acc pages so that recolors are always on bottom.

Reason: not worth editor time, people can just learn that the lists are hiccupped with recolors when it comes to DoR, or future editors can "fix" this OCD issue.

Add animation (ifexist) to image tags for convenience? Only after we get most/all of these uploaded.

Reason: bleh!

Add entire gate map visuals to galleries of mission pages? Would require some splicing. Idk, that might be too much science.

Reason: just link to the geographical area, only include super special areas encountered exclusively in the mission.

Start up "monster-themed" categories for people who like to cosplay/collect.

Going to just mention related costumes on monster pages, and monsters on costume pages+main list. Future editors can make this category if they wish.

Strategic Map Images

Reason: we can just link to videos, or put a description next to a screenshot of the area. Strategic Map Images are a lot of work for editors, and they use several semi-official icons at best.

Scrapped (added delete tag and removed use of template): 21 September 2015. Reason: Not all users (especially phone) have the convenience of mousehovering.

Direct linking for prize box pages instead of through redirects so that the back button doesn't go to the top of the item's list page when clicked once (Firefox only issue?) - really the whole wiki needs to be as such, or have navigation adjusted somehow.

Decided not to do this because it's a lot of work for little gain, and would be very hard to do for all the "little links" around the wiki, not just the big list templates.
